i cannot understate how genuinely inspiring and needed these kinds of honest videos are in today’s worlds, i feel like over-saturation of art content is actually detrimental and even paralyzing to new learners and beginners who are barely clinging to hope this is the kind of advice that is actually required for them to release perfectionism and take up a growth mindset thanks marco!

Another thing to keep in mind for beginners like me is that he only got that massive wacom after 20 years or something of training Not like some who just started drawing for a week and immediately complain because they "can't do a drawing" cuz their paper, tablet whatever is no good Only to end up having a wonderful set up to show off This shows how many excuses we tend to do But him Just moved on with an ordinary medium size wacom for years even as a pro And I'm sure he was able to afford something better I've seen that phenomena in true hardworking people Their dedication is way more powerful than the tools they have That's a great reminder for those who can't afford a fancy set up to not get caught on following trends and to stick on their objectives regardless the external conditions

When you love something, you'll be good at it with time I love pizza and didn't know how to make it but I learned through YouTube videos during the pandemic and became so good that family and friends suggested I sell them I said "No I don't want to turn something I love into boring work" brbrGreat video and thank you for sharing that one doesn't have to be gifted from birth, we just need the passion ❤❤❤🍕🍕🍕🍕

I loved watching this video But somehow it left a bitter taste in my mouth In 2004 I was 18 years old and my quality of "copying" drawings was very good, something that was done a lot for those who wanted to make comics Nowadays, working with illustration and learning a lot about the fundamentals, I feel that I used to draw better than I do now It makes me sad

Gesture was also the thing that made things click for me I was drawing since I could hold a pencil, but I would just copy drawings When I took my first art class my senior year in highschool my teacher taught me about gesture drawing and I felt like I could finally draw people I’m glad you mentioned this!

So, you got rejected for having terrible drawing skills Isn’t school supposed to fix that, so you can carry out your life’s passion? If you are already great, why go to a school, graduate and let them take the credit for becoming a great artist? 😂 it’s like Leonardo DaVinci going to an art school, and now the art school gets to market how their “curriculum” made him a great artist
