Wish I still had a good library There arent even good books to check out at my local library I have to reserve online and have books shipped from all over the state

If you're a business owner, PLEASE check out SCORE It's an invaluable resource for people like myself who need help but have 0 dollars to spend on a lawyer or a business coach I had an issue with a trademark and SCORE allowed me to talk to a former attorney about it without paying a cent

My library has a seed library You can go to the library and "borrow" seeds for planting, (tomatoes, lettuce, beans, peppers, etc) and you "return" them by bringing in seeds from next generation for others to borrow

I LOVE my library! They offer workout classes, movies on a rooftop during the summer, regular film screenings twice a week, a seed library, and I use mine to print things all the time or if I need to use a real computer instead of my phone or tablet They have totally saved me from having to by a computer!

this is like the dumbest smallest thing but as someone who sews bno one needs a sewing machine for a button omg/b i mean some fancy machines can supposedly do buttons but i've never met anyone who's ever sewn on buttons with their sewing machine like if you mess up something sewing fabric, you're probably still fine if you mess up something sewing a button with a machine, that's a shattered needle (and i'm always scared of broken needle shards flying into my eyeballs)

I always tell people about the language learning tools that the libraries near me have (ex: Mango) It's amazing how much scholarly/academic research tools there are too (ESPECIALLY FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS!) I love this video and thank you for sharing tips (now I'm looking up these tips at my library lol)

Librarian here, and this was great! Additionally, if your library doesn't have some of these things on this list and you would really appreciate and use them, TELL THE LIBRARY THAT! It's way easier to request funds from the board or a friends of the library group if there is interest from the patron base as opposed to pitching the idea without any idea if patrons would actually use it

Digital lending has saved me so much time and gas I hadn't physically gone to the library for more than a year but borrowed several books a week through overdrive I started physically going to again to study because I can't concentrate at home I recently moved and signed up for the library within 2 weeks I found out they have a 3d printer!

So in Australia, number 5 isn't relevant However all the other things are definitely available in Australian Libraries Though there aren't a huge amount of public libraries in more regional areas

Library are awesome! One thing you didn't mention are that most library now have video games And my local library has a movie theater usually play independent films and classics I know for example they played Alfonso Cuarón: Roma and that pretty cool because it was only on Netflix

I love the way Phoenix has organized their libraries You can request items from any branch to be shipped to your local branch for pick up They even have a seed library with locally sourced seeds You can "check out" three packets at a time every 3 weeks

I am an avid library user I have taken classes at the library on how to make macarons or homemade salad dressing I also have borrowed a heat camera to find areas in my house that need better insulation! Use the library to save and learn!
