 This math seems to assume that the investor's money is going bINTO/b the company What's the math if the Founder is selling shares to take some "chips off the table" ie: the money is going to the Founder personally and not the company

 What if my pre-money valuation was 1 million and the investors offered 8 million Would they own the entire thing? I'm going based off the math presented, the investors offered 1/3 of the pre-money valuation and ended up owning 1/4 in the example you gave So how would investing way more than the pre-money valuation effect the founders?
