Though I can't do much in real life but cook I do love crafting in games Skyrim in particular rewards repetitive making of simple things with the ability to make more complicated ones Players laugh that making hundreds of simple daggers raises your skill, not realizing that's how you learn stuff like that in real life At least in the game you never have an unsellable failure lol

This is true for welding nowadays, welding builds all of the machines that build everything, from industrial metal presses to forks, without welding we'd go back to the stone age in only a couple of years

Yes sir I just watched the video on Black smithing and you we're right Black smithing was and still is the most important job in the world today even though it has gotten modernized I remember my lesson on Black Smithing I'm not saying that I'm a master of it but I do know how to make some to Crewed tools and weapons when I need it just like my Dad youst to say I don't care how modernized things get it don't mean Jack if you forget the old ways of doing of doing things sir ,and I have learned a lot from your program and I thank you for that my Friend

I would have to agree but unfortunately my grandfather and father were made to feel bad for their work as smiths in East Africa We are very proud of our Tumaal (Blacksmith) tribe who are stigmatized for this beautiful skill god had blessed them with and sad we couldn’t ask for information directly from our grandfather Our father is still opening up to the idea of sharing information and we can tell he just wants to protect us but is happy we are proud of our history

There's another reason some folks liked the blacksmith I remember visiting the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, several years ago It was in the summer, but as I stood in the blacksmith's shop all I could think of is how great it would have been to have been the smith's best pal in the dead of Maine winter! 👍

A few years back I read a piece that suggested that a lack of iron is one of the things that did in the Norse settlements in Greenland Obviously, before the Townsend time period, but a good example of how important iron was to the European lifestyle

My sixth generation grandfather Jesse Joshua Reynolds was a Blacksmith in Marshal County Kentucky in the late 1700`s and early 1800`s He married Mary Henson and owned over 400 acres of land what is now part of Kentucky Lake His sons owned over 400 acres in Metropolis, Illinois and became corn farmers Now I am a journeyman Aerospace machinist and I know my ancestors and I will have a lot to talk about
