Packet Tracer is a great tool to simulate router and switch networks without having to buy expensive hardware However, taking Cisco classes at my local technical college has the benefits of having access to a lab environment which contains different types of routers and switches to work on Comment from : @bloodyhell302 |
Jorge,brI have been following your networking journey for some time now and I must say congrats man! I was wondering thoughwould it be possible for you to put together some CCENT practice questions if you are not too busy? I can't seem to find any I feel are good questions I also don't know how in depth I need to go with OSPF, NAT, DHCP, DNS etc for CCENT Comment from : @brandonwall2556 |

Hello , thanks for the video brI'm a computer science student currently in my senior year ,i have taken a networking course and a security course and i was wondering how helpful will it be to have an experience in programming and a basic networking knowledge for the CCNA test and if you can just use a router simulator like GNS for the learning part instead of buying it Comment from : @gherbihicham8506 |
Thank you for the useful information Comment from : @brentvanderpool7 |

I'll try to give a heads up on things that are going on I cannot give you much details on the exam other than what Cisco gives you I will have a video soon regarding my new job Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
Packet tracer is quite honestly enough to get past the CCNA But I always recommend having real world experience with the equipment
Things actually are looking good in regards to my jobs I got a final interview in San Antonio, TX on the 8th I fly to Arkansas tomorrow for an interview And on the 11th I fly to Dallas for a third interview There a lot of opportunities out there It's just about going to get them Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
Hi, thank you so much for the video I've a question, right now i'm studying for the ICND1 100-101 exam since the 822 will be expired by Sept 30, 2013 So, you think that Jermmy series are enough? /cisco_ccna_icnd1_100_101
Should I buy it without reading any books? Or the book is essential to pass the exam?
I've CCENT/CCNA ICND1 640-822 book which will be outdated
Please reply ASAP, your reply will be appreciated
Thanks man (y) :)
Comment from : @NoorAljanabi |
yes it is very possible to do both exams before September But you need to start studying now Let me know how it goes Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |

Thanks for replying I appreciate you sharing your experience and helping out others :) Comment from : @adiy77 |
If you decide to build a lab get
2x 2611s
2x 2950s
2509/2511 access server *optional
I have a video on my CCNA lab on my channel Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
My recommendation is to get experience with real equipment But if your budget is really tight Packet Tracer can do 90 of what you need to do for CCNA Doing labs and sims are very important for passing the exam Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
Jorge, I'm currently studying ccent 640-816 and 640-822(jeremy videos, wendell 3rd edition book) and plan to take this exams before sept 30 I;m worried about lab simulations I'm doing self study I want to know is it necessary to buy the routers and switches to pass this exam (I'm a little low on budget, so I don't want to buy) If so, could you tell me the routers and switches that I need to purchase that would be just sufficient to crack both the exams? Comment from : @adiy77 |
I believe I paid $125 for CCENT and $150 for CCNA I did not receive a student discount All of my Cisco studies have been self taught Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
$125 for the CCENT exam, do you receive a student discount? Comment from : @alhaji265 |
Thanks, I have the link in the description Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
I would do my best to study 3 hours a day I took one exam per month, plus I went to school full time and had a part time job not to mention a full time girlfriend LOL It's my understand that if you do ICNDv1 and September comes around you can do ICNDv2 and that is perfectly okay Jeremy Ciora recommends however to try and take down both ICND1 and 2 before September It is very possible to do so Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
How many hours did you study per day?And one more question, if i take old ICND 1 and new ICND 2 will i be CCNA certified?? As you might have known already that new version is coming after September So i am planning to do my CCENT this month with old ICND 1 and after september new ICND 2 reply me please Comment from : @ueipppp |
I have gotten a hold of Packet Tracer as well I use that software to initially learn topics But after that I use real gear I also have a home ISP and PAT is a type of NAT configuration, sorry for not specifying that Thanks for the comment buddy Subscribe for more content :D Comment from : @JorgeAlmazan |
