I found this one of the most useful webinars of 2021 I think that we need to get out there and bust some of the myths about teaching The best way to do this is to apply facts and empirical research There are many very useful findings here, for example: why using word frequency is a good approach to vocabulary training; we should not teach students lists of the same parts of speech, or the same kinds of things, but rather more diverse sets of vocabulary related to a context; the usefulness of L1 in the classroom as a timesaver and backup; the critical importance of review exercises based on testing/retrieval of vocabulary and not just encountering the word again, and how that brings much better results This is essential viewing for the TEFL teacher Comment from : @RoryBraddell |
