There are just more and more articles and videos from anthropologists who are saying there is no history of barter societies It's simply not true that spot transactions of goods for goods took place on a large scale Debt proceeds money There weren't barter based economies

“Imaginary money” seems a bit misleading, as if printed paper or minted coins were more real All money is and always was a representation of value, whatever unit of standardisation is agreed on to represent that value Yes, over time more advance technology is used to ensure that people aren’t cheating the system, so that the community can be confident that the representation of value remains valid However, this technological advancement is necessary so that those who use technology to cheat the system don’t get away with it (too much)
