I am always the most talkative person in my familybrMy in laws would make fun of that sometimes One important aspect is parenting also I went through post partum stress after 2nd baby which went un-diagnosed The environment was equally traumatic for me due to the in laws pushing me alot I suffered alot and would go numb and silent for hours My 2 year old regressed in that one year he is now ASD Level 3 , non verbal and high needs I am trying to get over that grief and to help him grow as an independent child It's a tough journey but I am happy to have the support now Comment from : @reedafatmah4555 |

Talk to your baby - listening to your in depth talk of the subject has for first time in life give the exposure how one can make an infant talk the language only from its mother which is called as the mother tongue This has added to my general knowledge of how an infant can be made to talk the language which was not known to me The talk was superb & wish you add more such infant development videos Comment from : @francislobo9297 |

As about laguage nutrition it is undoubtedly important to have interactions and exposing children to language so their brain gets developed but doing so to make a child able to graduate from a high school isn't a key to success without graduating u can still be successful by all means Comment from : @sucinahaidar116 |
My senior kindergarten is a great reader, she is reading chapter books at age 5 by now I taught her to read when she is only 3 years old Yes it makes a big difference when u start talking to your child when they are newborn Goodluck to all parents Comment from : @mamameahsoriano6919 |

I think a better way to tackle this issue is from the origin: why aren't poorer mothers talking to their babies? No one told the "richer" mothers to talk to their babies, so what is the difference between the rich one and the poor one in their communication systems? Comment from : @magdasupreme3081 |

If talking to your baby is the most important factor than wouldn't being on welfare benefit the babies? Going to work an putting your baby in a daycare would drastically reduce the amount of daily interactions with their caregivers Comment from : @nigelv9148 |
Still experiment! Comment from : @keithdaragon |
it IS the income lmao it's extremely short-sighted to think income is unrelated to how much parents talk to their kids it's literally the number 1 thing if you have more money, you can literally afford to spend more time talking to your baby you don't just have to educate parents, you have to give them enough time to do all these things a rich family might able to afford to have one stay at home parent or hire a nanny or something and have someone who can basically spend the entire day talking to the baby a poor family won't be able to do that Comment from : @ishathakor |
Okay so… for someone who has been on wic… the food options are processed and absolutely horrible Y’all go by the FDA… look into research done outside of the USA when it comes to nutrition At least I can purchase farm foods for my kids with EBT… even if that means I go without I’ve gotten better food from food banks than we get from wic Comment from : @Iannaz91 |

My husband did not go to college yet sounds very educated and has a wider vocabulary than me (who went to university) my parents did not go to college His parents went to university He says his father (he graduated from an IV league school) would always read books to him and so he found a love for reading (mostly fantasy) I don’t have memories of my parents reading to me I remember watching a lot of TV while my husband did not have cable Long story short read to your baby/child! Exposure to language till grade 3 by interaction Comment from : @User00571 |
How is it not the issue of income? If a child has both parents and let's say one of them could afford to stay home for more than 3 months after birth/adoption that's one scenario and let's take a single mom who has to work 2 jobs so she could afford rent, food and child care, what child would experience more interaction and receive word nutrition from the parents? Come on Comment from : @10romashka |
Poverty plays a big role in language Telling people what to do and not showing them way to enrich their personal life doesn't change anything Comment from : @niauge |

I'm really REALLY tired of seeing people shame parents in poverty for underperformingbrbrParents in poverty have a much higher toxic stress level Parents in poverty are more commonly experiencing drug and alcohol addiction Parents in poverty are often working several minimum wage jobs and the kids are being put in the care of the cheapest sitters who usually have more than they can handle on their plates too Parents in poverty are more often disabled physically or mentally and do not have the ability to buy all the products out there that help make life easier Parents in poverty have a higher rate of violence and toxic relationships Parents in poverty cannot afford the health care they need to keep optimal health physically, mentally, emotionally Parents in poverty are not only income insecure, but food insecure and housing insecure sometimes just plain broke, hungry, homeless Sometimes all parents can do with their child is survive each daybrbrSo until someone is ready to step up and level the playing fields that matter in this classist and capitalistic society, can we at least stop pointing our fingers downstream and start looking at the disease instead of trying to treat all these lesser symptoms?!?!?!brbrThanks you for coming to my TedTalk bcringe/b Comment from : @trixiedevine9592 |

But I grew up with wealthy parents and though my mother talked to me a lot my father didn't Other wealthy kids had mom's who didn't pay much attention to them at all There seems to be no correlation that I can see And my African American friends talked a lot to their babies and kids Those kids had HUGE vocabularies These were working class people I had very few words at the same age as did my friends from rich families Comment from : @rg1whiteywins598 |

The problem in education today is that teachers are pressured to pass students who cannot read Many educators in leadership are more concerned with the percentage of graduates rather than filling in the gaps and teaching our kids Higher graduation rates make the schools look good We need to face the problem head-on and be honest with the fact that we are failing so many of our kids Parents and schools need to work together, and educators need to get back to teaching the basics rather than political or ideological agendas Comment from : @catherinefisher5007 |

Old southern lady needs to make sure she speaks correctly because some of these reiterations are completely silly compared to whatever word she initially speaks She corrects college educated to high school educated; and actual says the word “unexpectable” which is not a word I get it when you’re nervous and giving a big speech but it makes her seem uneducated Comment from : @d179654582248 |

As someone who talks A LOT and had a lot of great interaction with her child, my child still had a speech delay Just a reminder for parents, every child is different Stop putting your child’s successes and failures as a direct compliment or insult to your well-being If you’re a good parent, you’re always striving to learn more, you’re watching videos like this, you’re finding ways to be a better influence in a child’s life, but every human life is different Comment from : @ElisabethWykert |
