17 years ago you didnt need all this bullshit showing W2s etc and pay stubs,,, i had progesso bank i opened it up in sosua they was great the only you had to bring was a letter from your bank your paystubs passport and id ie drivers license and bam you had a account, you just had to make sure you tell them you will be using the card abroad so they can have it unlocked for use, i recently went to bdh bank in la sirena i had everything but when they said W2s im like wtf and i got piss the fuck off and walked out,

Dam 3 hours?! 😂 like buying a car When I called popular they told me a bank statement two forms of ID and the money that's it And an adress of choice in DR IF I WANTEd to use a local adress Judging by how inefficient and disorganized somethings can go often in that country I'm definitely sire it takes more than that after watching this I will reconsider Reserves or that bank your husband uses Geez I will call them again to make sure

I opened my account at banco santa cruz in Janurary 21 so I wouldn't have any issues on getting a loan for my apartment I purchased in punta cana when its delivered to me in October Didn't want any issues when the time came up Its alot better when you're solidified in a bank down there I usually send money to it every few months with the remitly app

Yes Norberis your right about popular They were my first choice; but their requirements are so stringent, I too had to change my mind But when I actually live there I will definitely open an account with them When i open my account though it wasn’t so difficult A few days had pass after I give them my information, I was wondering why it’s taking so long So I send them a very nicely worded letter via email ; and within a few minutes they respond back and tell me to come by the bank and finalize the process I made my deposit, request a card instead of the bank book That was it My spouse did recommend me though And I just wanted a peso account

That’s funny because when I went to open an account at Banreservas, besides my passport, they asked for my tax returns, copy of my recent pay stubs and my Social Security Card Another thing, if you happen to have been in the DR for more than 30 days, they told me they couldn’t open the account until I exit the country and re-enter So if you are contemplating opening a bank account here, bring all your documents and try apply within the 1st 30 days of entry
