Great video, but on the Flipkart acquisition by Walmart, I don't understand how they can do the acquisition in August 2018 but not finalize the valuation of assets acquired and liabilities assumed until the second quarter of 2020 ASC 805 only allows for a one-year purchase accounting allocation window Unless Walmart was OK with running the valuation changes through P&L after the one-year window closed Puzzling

What are the effects on things like Dept to Equity ratio? Do i need to cut the noncontrolling interest out of the companys shareholders equity or does it count? Would be nice if you could answer this

In the equity section one would expect the removal of NCI equity to DECREASE consolidated equity, yet it’s INCREASING it I assume this means the subsidiary has a deficit in total equity, correct?

As the example shows that flipkart is left with 20 of the shareholding So my question is how the earnings are divided b/w the holding company (walmart) & subsidiary company (flipkart) Does flipkart will get 20 of the Walmart profits OR Flipkart will get just 20 of flipkart's profitsbrSimilarly, I have confusion related to the dividend given to non controlling interests! Why Walmart is paying minority interest dividend as flipkart doesn't hold any share in Walmart From whose earnings this dividend is paid ? Is it the Walmart's earning? Flipkart earning? Or is flipkart getting dividend (according to 20 shareholding) out of total flipkart's earnings?

Thanks for the video The statement of cash flows shows dividends paid to NCI of $555M Why does the consolidated statement of equity show dividends to NCI of only $475MM?
