I wish I had been taught like this in grade school It would've made math so much easier for me Now I feel a lil more confident to teach my son He's in 3rd grade and we homeschool He knows some of his multiplication, via his father (he's better at math) but now the job has fallen on me since he's back at work So I have to now teach him math, and boy, I am intimidated by it, but this video has helped so much I will be using this to keep it going so that he excels in this Even his mama (me) didn't realize certain patterns that you've shown here Great work

As a teacher, this is how I teach multiplication The struggle is that many of my students don't practice at home, so I have a significant minority of kids who never learn them all year I teach Gr 4

The techniques presented are commendable At 12:03 in your video, I would suggest using the term "squares" instead of "doubles" For example, 7 multiplied by 7 results in 49 Doubling a number means adding the same number, while squaring a number involves multiplying it by itself I understand your perspective, nonetheless

I love this! Just be careful calling the 5×5, 6x6, etc "double" I get that it's a number written twice in a multiplication problem, but it may get mixed up with how you wonderfully teach them how to do the 4s as double 2s and 6s as double 3s
