Is this the biggest (monetary wise) holiday in Chinese culture? At first, I was blown away by the price point, but I suppose in western culture it could be similar to Christmas $500-$1,500 is about average to spend in total on gifts for family, friends and coworkers during the winter holiday season Would this be comparable, or are there other holiday that surpass this?

I'm a domestic helper and i love adapting some traditions and one is giving red pocket during CNY especially to those hard worker elders outsidethey said must be crispy and new notes to put inside the envelop but as domestic helper who have not time to go bank and change the small amount that i want to share is complicatedso i tried my best to pick the new as i can but a little bit crample as long as it comes to my heart❤🙂
