And on the verge of 2022 the savings account is officially dead
Comment from : @JohnnyD5

@annajeehee
Put in regular individual savings account in fidelity and buy index fund - much better rate of interest than bank and can withdraw without penalty and tax and no maximum contribution- - call fidelity - don’t leave it in bank - you lose out this way esp during inflation
Comment from : @annajeehee

@jessicaallen9006
Nice video!! Very engaging from beginning to end Nevertheless, businesses and investment are the easiest way to make money irrespective of which party makes it to the oval office
Comment from : @jessicaallen9006

@carries8052
20 savings accounts sounds stressful - I have a HYS for efund and long term savings (our HVAC is gonna go one of these days) and a savings account in the same bank as checking - for sinking funds and short term savings I use YNAB to determine how much money is assigned to what goal I only check my bank accounts to reconcile against YNAB So much less moving money around - but personal finance is personal so whatever works for you!
Comment from : @carries8052

@InternerVodkaAunt
With the emergency fund, once you reach you goal amount, do you keep adding more? Or do you move that savings into short/long term savings?
Comment from : @InternerVodkaAunt

Comment from : @mercyfae7533

@vickyjansen3544
I was told recently there is not enough hours because the online sales aren't enough I have a lot of vacation so I'm using it right now to float Just incase we open somewhat at the beginning of June I'm lucky I do have a 6 month emergency fund and in the May there is a 3 week paycheck The second paycheck I might put in my emergency fund to raise the level I don't get charge for my checking account because I get direct deposit The savings if I transfer 25 dollars a month I won't get charge To making this story longShould I take less vacation and start pulling out a balance out off my emergency fund So I can still receive check thru some of my vacation time to not rack up bank charges Trying to get thru thisThanks Vicky

I just had a $1,500 emergency I have been working on my emergency fund for 9 months and had a little over $1,600 in it It was a heart breaking set back on my 3 month expense goal However, and this is big, this emergency fund saved me from falling back into debt or worry of not being able to pay my bills

@lirisa1869
I put both of my paychecks in my savings account, I plan my monthly budget around the withdraw limits I allow myself four I keep basically nothing in my checking now that I use the same bank for checking and savings I let my money build as much compound interest as possible I use credit cards and pay them off before the statement date
Comment from : @lirisa1869

@LJUK28
Just American???
Comment from : @LJUK28

@Ljungcrantz
How much procentage of the savings should be put in these acounts? If I have 1000 dollars per month to save, how much should I put in the emergency savings, how much procentage to short and long term etc? Or should a person "fill them up" from 1-4 (retirement not included since it should always be filled every month)
Comment from : @Ljungcrantz

@davidchester429
Not sure what it's like in the US but loads of people in the UK still pay for things like insurance monthly The interest rates on those things are crazy I suggest saving to pay those in advance and also if you have discipline spend on a credit card and bank the cash you would have spent It won't make you rich but the interest is better in your pocket than theirs
Comment from : @davidchester429

@stonescorpio
I have a savings account right now (a comfortable emergency stash) and an IRA, but it never occurred to me to sock away money in separate accounts for other expenses My desktop is a few years old now, and it'll be expensive to replace when it kicks the bucket And my brother and his wife want me to visit them in London sometime in the next year I should probably open accounts specifically for those events
Comment from : @stonescorpio

@acelguevarra4331
Ironically, I've watched a credit card ad b4 this video lol
Comment from : @acelguevarra4331

@htaltidor1069
I've started on my emergency and retirement saving Short term saving is more so on a whim Should all these savings accounts add up to the general thumb of 20 of my income? (50/30/20)
Comment from : @htaltidor1069

@randymankoto2196
I'm british does this work for me
Comment from : @randymankoto2196

@stripedsweater520
i'm still skeptical about 401k, an older family of mine in their 60s was laid off unexpectedly and has to use that money Despite what the should've, would've, could've done in their earlier years the penalty is ridiculous
Comment from : @stripedsweater520
