There was a comment below that nailed why this is a security feature It seems that this particular security will help with the majority of counterfeits but it is still a very weak security feature What I think we all would agree on is keeping the old design and putting the security feature on the shield that requires an angle or a reader like Sunshine Mint That would make it extremely difficult to counterfeit and still look gorgeous without messing up the overall design
