My friend let me try some hoverwork in his heli and it was VERY sensitive and it didn't help that it was windy that day, so the wind kept catching the rotors and causing it to lift

I worked with a door gunner who served in Vietnam One day the pilot let him take the controls and told him to think about going to the left The helicopter started moving to the left without him even thinking he was moving his hand Those things are seriously sensitive

I’m going to school to become an aviation mechanic and I work as a fueler at our local airport I don’t typically interact with the pilots, but the ones who do are really nice and a lot of those aircraft are awesome I’d like to have my own plane one day or maybe even a helicopter

Helicopters look so simple to fly until you realize that you have to manage the 3 control systems constantly and all at once 😅 (The cyclic, the collective, and the anti-torque pedals)brEdit: I also find it mindblowing how helicopters actually work Like the way the rotorbades are angled based on the input is crazy They're all shifted by a quarter turn iirc because that's how long it takes for to generate the lift in the right direction 🤓

Brothers a helicopter pilot who also started on Robinsons, hes always told me that they are one of the hardest helicopters to fly because of how small they are, apparently the bigger ones are much less twitchy

Was going for my rotary wing license when i was working for Sikorsky A/C many years ago After ground school, I found out how much it was going to cost me for my flight time Needless to say, I still love to fly but never got my license and regret it Enjoy your dreams
