I spent 8 yrs in the coal guard, got out as an E5 in 92 I was making with everything: approximately $20k a yr Total I was broke and that’s why I got out

All military branches make the same base pay But we do get sea pay, and we dont have barracks at most of our bases, so even single lower enlisted members often receive BAH

The rank insignia you used for the “master chief petty officer” was actually the insignia used for the mcpocg or “master chief petty officer of the coast guard” and that’s coming from a navy member
