I have a Lincoln cent die Reason for Retirement: "come together" perhaps a die clash? "piece out engraving" perhaps a die chipped or cracked?

I saw one die that was used to strike olympic coins, but the die end was not polished off or melted it just had a deep x gouge over it so about 60 of the die was still there! I bet these are worth much more

I may be wrong but I seem to remember seeing dies for sale with a deep "X" indented into the die to stop someone from using it That would make a much better collectable being able to see a large portion of the original die I almost purchased one as I recall, again I may be wrong or maybe they were not the quarter series dies

I actually own one of these, a Wisconsin quarter D die When I was a kid my dad's friend passed away and my dad bought some of his collection for me including the die I like it
