This whole idea with the premiums seems so absurd to me, but that might be only because I live close to the worlds most customer friendly shops for buying and selling physical gold, which are in AustriabrFor starters the Vienna Philharmonic Bullion Coins are the only gold coins in the world of which there exist no known fakes, it's the safest possible buying option, for two you can buy them directly from the source without any 3rd party in between and for three, directly from the source in Austria, the spread between buying and selling price is less than 2

Graded slabs should be reserved for circulated and rarer mintage coins, not newly minted ones that were pulled straight from the original container by a gloved hand and slabbed People aren't going to be willing to pay more for it vs one that came straight out of a mint monster box just because a 3rd party graded it It's already been graded by the Mint and they can see for themselves how flawless it's condition is or isn't

You can find really good prices on Goldbacks We all whine about the dollar and it’s future demise and when that happens, Goldbacks are the answer and they easily fit in a wallet without the weight of coins Here in NH, we use it throughout businesses that accept them The dollar is decreasing in value, Goldbacks increase in value Will you spend a gram of gold on a haircut? No, but you can use a 5 Goldback (about $26) and yea, a haircut is about that much now

Pre-1933, in slabbed MS64 or better, and prefer the Liberty vs the St Gaudens That is the only slabbed I buy other than each year ASE when they first come out for my grandson That's the only slabbed modern I buy but it's for a specific purpose (1 for each year of his life since birth)

In my opinion 1/2 oz first spouse series gold coins can't be beat They can be bought for slightly over or at spot (last I bought were slabbed 70s for $50 over spot, just under 4 over spot) and the lowest mintage ones were minted in quantities less than 2000 coins And they are 9999 pure Eventually the lowest mintages will obtain some numismatic value
