I have to say I’m disappointed Ken! 2020, right before prices raised, we spent $6,700 for a 1238 sq ft lowest model for our hvac Previous one was 26 yrs old and nothing could save it, we had tried We had 4 quotes and no one came in under $10,000 We were praying hard, sent our tithe check in the mail and literally the moment I let go of it I received an email One guy found a lower model to get us that price 😅 I don’t know the size of this guys house, but I feel that $18,000 isn’t far off Especially if he’s going to a “good” unit and up We went with “ok” which was hard because we had the top level experience with our older one lol Comment from : @Lesh004 |

Logan with the HVAC - absolutely on target with the cost for the old systems that use Freon that is no longer able to be used We just had this same scenario in our older home The older Freon refrigerant R-22 was banned in the US in 2020 It's no longer produced, and it's becoming more expensive to purchase R-410A, also known as Puron, is the standard replacement for Freon Freon supplies are decreasing and prices are increasing Air conditioners that use Freon are nearing the end of their lifespan Get a home equity loan and replace the whole system If you don't, it will be one thing after the other And pay off the loan quickly If a mortgage is ok (and the RS gods do permit that), a home equity loan is also ok - same financial bucket Protect your largest investment b/c the cost can be recouped when or if you move This is NOT the same category as buying a depreciating asset like a truck or other loans like student loans and credit cards Comment from : @Trustbutverify2651 |
