in the 70's and 80's there were no grading company which made coin collecting actually collecting and fun now it is just some bs about a score done by a company it is not about finding the coin in hours of searching through coins, it is just dealing with dealers aka scalpers Comment from : Torpedomtb |

That's why you buy coins not holders, the holder doesn't matter unless you collect plastic I buy good coins and cross them over to either PCGS or ANACS, even the big 3 PCGS,NGC and ANACS make mistakes and grade cleaned or counterfeit coins Comment from : Robert Waterman |
super interesting and instructive, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and warning us about counterfeits Comment from : Roberto Cisneros |

You just reminded me of several slabbed coins I bought(w/ some other items), a few years back, in one of those "estate" auctions The name is INB on the coins The printing is even faded so badly, I need a magnifying glass to read them Several are marked MS70 I know I didn't pay a lot for them, as I have always been a suspicious person(ex-MIL called me a Philadelphia lawyer because I wouldn't fall for her "jokes") I had even put a note on them that the company overgrades coins Comment from : swmovan |

Per Wikipedia:brbr“In 2007, the rare coin industry's leading dealer association, the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG), released the results of a survey of major coin dealers who gave their professional opinions about 11 certification services PCGS and NGC were rated "Superior" overall, with ANACS and ICG deemed "Good" PCI and SEGS were listed as "Poor", while called "Unacceptable" were Accugrade (ACG), Numistrust Corporation (NTC), Hallmark Coin Grading Service (HCGS), American Coin Club Grading Service (ACCGS), and Star Grading Services (SGS)” Comment from : Blake |

I believe ebay manipulates the feedback You can't post negative feedback to some sellers who are sponsors that pay big commissions to ebay Or they force you to contact the seller before leaving a negative score Comment from : Gerald Busby |

I hope to find a pro in the SF area who is as savvy and cares to teach those of us who are new, passionate, and honest businesspeople A righteous rant! Old IGS holders circa 2000 can have some good coins in them There’s a newer IGS slab that’s pretty suspect from what I’ve read Best thing to do if you’re wanting rock solid investment returns is to buy graded from the top tier graded slabs Third party is a mine field Comment from : billb89 |

Epic walk back to the late 1990's to early 2000's Will never forget when a salesman came into our honest LCS with the latest and greatest ploy Start your own TURN KEY grading service complete with snap tight rectangular slabs and your own label maker My mentor took a look and came back with the "NOPE, NOT FOR ME" LOL SGS Star Grading Service ABONCOM in Ohio was probably the worse of the worse of the over 200 shameless self slabbers located right there in your backyard, Daniel It took a dozen or so of us legit eBay power sellers working together to help get them exposed and finally shutdown by eBay Anyone reading this, Google those crooks and YW LOL Comment from : Kenny Cross |

The ads that make me laugh (altho it’s not funny) are the ones for ASE’s for $995 I suppose there are some people who actually buy these fakes, but education helps, with spot silver being at about $25 an ounce nobody sells ASE at $995 This should be common sense Comment from : Alan bud |

NGC and PCGS are the only two grading companies I will buy Comment from : Larry Dicus |
Great video I collect ancients, so rely exclusively on NGC grading I didn't realize how prevalent fake NGC slabs are until watching your videos From my perspective there are some VERY realistic looking fake ancients out there - I mean the right metal, the right striking method, the right toning I didn't realize I had to deal with fake NGC slabs too :-( Comment from : Hassan Chop! |
Nice work Ebay back in the late 90's early 00's wasn't a terrible place to buy coins, but once China took over it went to sh*t NGC, PCGS, ANACS are the only company's to deal with ICG? meh, they are not crooks IMHO, but they are spotty and I won't pay for the holder Comment from : Jeff Durden |
ICCS and CCCS are well-known and recognized by my city in Québec They're doing good jobs with Canadian coins and also it's cheaper than PCGS or NGC Comment from : Jinsun Ha |
