DeVops, excellent initiative! It would be better incorporating core Devnet curricula as mandatory right from the word go, ie across all basic cisco entry & associate levels; only as separate/standalone at specialist level upwards Software, though concurrent with hardware- is becoming crucial & bigger than hardware; it is about time that all networking professionals become naturally competent in this aspect of software programming & development Comment from : @manleymukuwasidambi7321 |
So we only write one CCNA EXAM chuck? Comment from : @afakhpatel8522 |

It is really a huge change, it has pros and cons in terms of myself I have some knowledge of programming, so I don't mind there will be some inclusion of programming in the ccna certification, but the other thing is I was planning to take my ccna exam for the next 4 month, but according to this change I have no idea what will be the thing which is include in this new certification The other thing is what about ICDN1 and ICDN2, is there any thing with that, I mean is there still can take those portion of ccna??? please let me know if there is any one who have some additional information Thank you Comment from : @arontigerful |

SobrbrCurrently the CCNA Security is an approved DoDD 8570 IAT Level II CertificationbrWill the new CCNA staring 2/24/2020 be an approved DoDD 8570 IAT Level II certification as well, since it includes the ccna security??brbrIf my current CCNP certification doesn't expire until 2021, will I continue having the new CCNA certification even after 2/24/2020 until my CCNP expires?? Comment from : @ms3ben |
Is the new certificate much stronger than the old one please answer me Comment from : @happinessforeverything2835 |
Sounds like a move to a more lucrative model for Cisco due to the increase in available certs, for which they will doubtlessly charge similar to the fewer existing certs Comment from : @stuartg40 |
I feel sick to my stomach Oh fuck Comment from : @IDK-kv8ob |
So is 200-125 still a relevant? Comment from : @jbatutegaming382 |
I've heard that the new CCNA is more hands on, and that your old certifications will be renewed For example, if you got your CCNA in 2018 it would still be valid in 2020 Comment from : @MrPerry435 |
I've recently have taken an interest to IT and I know I will not pass the CCNA on time so would you still recommend that I still learn routing and switching? Or should I just wait until the new cert comes out? Comment from : @KazSw3 |
Truth is old ccnp/a were dying and employers were not employing them so the solution was to provide them engineers with multiple skills So now less employees required to do the same work Comment from : @IPlayGamezHD |
So should I go for the ccna security now or get the ccnp security when it gets updated? Comment from : @bobstevens2601 |
Hi NetworkChuck,brWhat do you think about the CISSP cert Should i go after that after the CCNA? Comment from : @samwu434 |
This is total BS They just invent meaningless certs to force people to take them just to take their money What if if i don't wanna be np? I was planing to take ccna sec in december, but ccnp is too much i have no time to study for that shit, i'll rather take ceh Mark my words, in two years cisco will reverse this decision and reintroduce the old certs after they see how many people will drop and opt out for more practical and better paid certs Comment from : |
If CCENT is dead, what should i study for the meantime Comment from : @JEHOVASAVES010 |

Coming from a Computer Science major I took networking while I had to learn how to program into networking, I got say this is a pain in the ass There is a reason why programming is a whole different field which should be taken with a lot caution Mixing the two, programming and networking is too overwhelming, specially for someone who never had a background in either networking or programming Comment from : @VadelGame |
If anyone is wondering, the core test for the NP qualifies you for the IE lab You read that correctly The core NP test is the equivalent to the IE written Same test for both There will be different cores for different domainsbrbrAnd Three year recerts for all levels, not two Comment from : @mkeklpse1 |
What will be specialization for collaboration?? Comment from : @mohammedirshad3969 |

$$$$Cisco earning $$$$ Comment from : @tsar2106 |
I like the all in one CCNA like it was in the early 2000s When I got my CCNA back in 2004, the CCNA encompassed RS, Collab, WIFI, Security, and etc I am glad it is going back to that I have always said someone starting out in this field does not know what they want to specialize in initially They should not be forced to make that choice upfront like the current CCNA format forces you to do Comment from : @UAB_OG |
what will happen for those certified CCNP R&S ? Comment from : @michaelcheung5382 |
Is there will be new textbooks? Comment from : @BaghdadiMoh |

So how much python do you need to know for the new CCNA exam? Do you need to be a guru and be able to script on the fly? I would certainly not hope not for an entry level cert Comment from : @kevinthomas7478 |

Chuck maybe you can assist me with this concern, I am CCNA CyberOps, what will happen with the CyberOps path? since they eliminated the CCNA branching option, and now at the CCNP level we only have CCNP Security?? Comment from : @natesion |
I don't understand how you can justify squashing all distinctive CCNAs (or as Cisco has tried to convince us an amalgamation of the current CCNAs with the promise of a specialized badge), but justify creating a new CCNA for devnet It would seem more equitable to have one CCNA, but have specialization badges for ALL tracks or keep the current tracks of CCNA and add the devnet CCNA Comment from : @txg8878 |
Part of me is kicking myself for not going to this convention But I kinda like the idea of having one initial certification rather than it being split up Comment from : @bokkebokke7 |
so should i wait or take current exam ? 8 months is a long time -_- Comment from : @networkguy321 |
I'm actually tempted to just hold off on taking CCNA until February 24 now It sounds kinda neat! Comment from : @blendonator |

Hey Chuck, what would you say to someone who wants to get the ccnp r&s right now, but knows that 7 months when they revamp the cert, isnt enough to complete the proper training brbrShould I go for the ccnp and its knowledge, or should I hold off and learn other things? Comment from : @JonathanB00K3R |
if I have the ccna routeing and switching for about 3 months now, will I be eligible for the ccna or will I have to retake the new exam ? Comment from : @artember1200 |
