DeVops, excellent initiative! It would be better incorporating core Devnet curricula as mandatory right from the word go, ie across all basic cisco entry & associate levels; only as separate/standalone at specialist level upwards Software, though concurrent with hardware- is becoming crucial & bigger than hardware; it is about time that all networking professionals become naturally competent in this aspect of software programming & development

It is really a huge change, it has pros and cons in terms of myself I have some knowledge of programming, so I don't mind there will be some inclusion of programming in the ccna certification, but the other thing is I was planning to take my ccna exam for the next 4 month, but according to this change I have no idea what will be the thing which is include in this new certification The other thing is what about ICDN1 and ICDN2, is there any thing with that, I mean is there still can take those portion of ccna??? please let me know if there is any one who have some additional information Thank you

Truth is old ccnp/a were dying and employers were not employing them so the solution was to provide them engineers with multiple skills So now less employees required to do the same work

This is total BS They just invent meaningless certs to force people to take them just to take their money What if if i don't wanna be np? I was planing to take ccna sec in december, but ccnp is too much i have no time to study for that shit, i'll rather take ceh Mark my words, in two years cisco will reverse this decision and reintroduce the old certs after they see how many people will drop and opt out for more practical and better paid certs

Coming from a Computer Science major I took networking while I had to learn how to program into networking, I got say this is a pain in the ass There is a reason why programming is a whole different field which should be taken with a lot caution Mixing the two, programming and networking is too overwhelming, specially for someone who never had a background in either networking or programming

I like the all in one CCNA like it was in the early 2000s When I got my CCNA back in 2004, the CCNA encompassed RS, Collab, WIFI, Security, and etc I am glad it is going back to that I have always said someone starting out in this field does not know what they want to specialize in initially They should not be forced to make that choice upfront like the current CCNA format forces you to do

I don't understand how you can justify squashing all distinctive CCNAs (or as Cisco has tried to convince us an amalgamation of the current CCNAs with the promise of a specialized badge), but justify creating a new CCNA for devnet It would seem more equitable to have one CCNA, but have specialization badges for ALL tracks or keep the current tracks of CCNA and add the devnet CCNA
