I learned to understand Bitcoin by reading critiques of it by trusted sources, eg Warren Buffett and others (you can find these on YouTube) The long and short of it is this- Bitcoin is just a piece of metal It has no intrinsic value like gold which has been used a standard of value for many years But, when demand for Bitcoin goes up, the value goes up If demand goes down its value goes down Here’s an analogy You can buy stock in Truth Social which has no intrinsic value because it’s just a bunch of people ranting What gives it “value” is that Donald Trump is on it If demand for Truth Social stock goes up, the price goes up and if you’re holding Truth Social stock you’re making money But, when demand goes down the price will go down making your stock less valuable After Donald Trump fades into history, Truth Social stock will be as worthless as Confederate money which only had value until the South lost the war So it is with Bitcoin If the novelty wears off and demand goes down, you will be holding a piece of metal with a weird B on it that now has less value Since there seems to be frenzy to buy it now, people holding it are seeing their Bitcoin value go up But its value can sink like a stone Feel lucky? Hold on to your Bitcoin and hope that demand keeps going up Warren Buffett won’t even touch it

The way bitcoin is created makes it more likely than not that the rich will rum the earth As it geta harder to make them, the price of a bitcoin will go up, but only the ultra rich will have access to mine them So as we near the last few million bitcoin available the amount of computational power will be astronomical, but so will the worth of a bitcoin
