Just finished my dad's funeral, cremation, burial, obits, flowers, reception, etc The total was around $8500 It was done very modestly Western Washington state, metro area

I am just at the "Does That Work For You" part of the video I wish I could have shared my wishes with my Sisters family I know it was their decision But they cremated my sister with no viewing or visitation of her body That was 3 years ago and I still feel like I haven't said goodbye I truly respect that it was their decision to make It's just so hard to believe that someone who is a part of you is Totally Gone No good-bye, no loving last touch I don't know how to end this I just miss her so much

funeral costs double every 15 yrs or soI was talking to Neptune Society and he was trying to commit me to sign before April 1(today), he said prices were going up for cremations nationwide on April 1brHe also said that ashes are heavier than what goes in an urn, so they typically give you around 10#'s of ashes, the rest are discarded??

Surprised to hear her say church clergy and others from church who participate need to be paid This doesn't happen in our area Clergy and members who help on funerals in our area would never accept or expect pay

My daughter passed I was told cheap cremation was 1000 Told 3000 We had nothing Got 1500 donations No service, no nothing So sad I did request to see her after 5 days in cooler Found funeral home that gave disc Were nice Wish I could have done better So sad Thx

You answered a question about a life insurance policy, that I’ve ad for about 9 months now! THANK YOU! I also STRONGLY feel it’s important to have a funeral plan in place I took a Death & Dying Class back in College, as one of my Upper Division electives, YEARS agoand while I’m no longer working in ANY field, due to Disability(you talked about spend down and people having to be under $200000, yeah, I’m now at poverty level! But I digress,) My Death & Dying Class, was by far, the most educational, and worthwhile course of my entire Educational experience (And I SO APPRECIATE, your videos! I’m blessed to have found them!)

Excellent information for a very important topic One more thing I was not aware of at my husbands death was the fact that we held all assets jointly All of my accounts were frozen until the death certificate was received and I had filed probate So perhaps put money in a savings account with each individual name

Life insurance policies for kids are also very important because if your child has cancer for instance in childhood and survives, it can be very difficult for them to buy a policy as an adult due to the preexisting condition If they have a policy as a child that policy will still be in effect as an adult as long as it's still paid for And the amounts can be changed in the future since an adult will usually have a larger policy than what a child has I'm also not an attorney My information is what was told to me when I was handling all of the stuff that goes along with death since I wanted to get all my affairs in order just in case
