I know this is not the case for most people, but I believe that going to university is more than just getting a job For me it felt like part of my learning process, enhancing knowledge and experience Not everything is supoosed to be about the money, but than again, it's not what most people think University is expensive and it's not guaranteed you will succeed professionally But as a person that loves learning and reading I would always recommed going to one

It's very very common in India to take a gap year that literally more than 50 of the students do it It's like before doing a particular course you have to clear its exam either study for that with your school or just take a gap year or two to just prepare for that For some courses you have a fixed number of chances to retake and in the others you can take as many as you want So, yeah it's really common here people take a gap year or more

In China, gap year is very rare You'll be looked at as an outlier and considered a lost opportunity to go to college, more severely than what you mentioned in the US I think being 30 years behind Europe in things like that
