I'm the iStock EX, too Just my 5 cents When you telling that exclusivity is not for everyone, it's 100 true, but I believe that you missed two important pointsbrFirstly, it would not work for "hobby" weekend photographers Actually, stock photography will not work for them as a real revenue source at all, but it would bring at least some money and exclusivity will make virtually nothingbrWhy? It's because of the second point :) Exclusivity at iStock is required very different kinds of content than other agencies Yes, exclusive content is more expensive, so no easy-to-produce things will be selling well if they will selling at all iStock has very particular requirements for style and subjects, strongly leaning towards people and high-quality realistic lifestyle and concepts If you are unable to produce this kind of content and following briefs, and you rely on a generic "stock content", your chances to make money here are close to zero Comment from : @AlexPotemkin |

Hi Luka, just came across your channel while doing some general research about stock and I find it really informative and very well done! Thank you for sharing your experience! brAfter many years in the video industry without any time for preparing all my footage for stock upload, I am at a career turning point and considering to start investing some good time in stock images and video I have an extensive library with footage from all across the world (photo and video), partly shot for projects, partly personal only Obviously I have no model releases etc but my thought is to work through my entire library to scan for HQ nature, cityscapes, drone footage etc For that reason I am also considering to start of directly with iStock Exclusive Would you think thats the right decision, especially considering the type of content? Its mostly pretty HQ quality but not much People footage bc of the release issue brOn recent trips Ive also started shooting more in my eyes commercially interesting footage like Timelapse, which I of course also want to use and expand brId appreciate your thoughts on this Or do you think its too late to start with the stock market now, with the unknown future of AI becoming much more prominent Comment from : @ChrisBucanac |

Thanks for the video As I understand it, you can be exclusive to iStock and still upload photos to other sites too, as long as the photos are significantly different to the ones you upload to iStock That would get round your point of having all your eggs in one basket I'm not sure I'm good enough to go exclusive yet but I'm going to keep practising I'm going to submit my first batch of images today and I'm half excited and half terrified I'll get rejected But I guess it's all part of the learning process I've been toying with the idea of doing this for years so it's time to be brave and bite the bullet! Earlier it was nice with often big sales but now Chinese firms are buying images for 001$ Even 4K videos are getting sold for 1 or 085$ Big sales are occasional nowHowz your experience now ?
