If you think about it New Super Mario Bros 2 and Super Mario Bros WII are parallels to Super Mario Bros 2 and Super Mario Bros the lost levels SMBTLL was made extremely difficult, but NSMB2 was made extremely easy NSMBW was made a forgettable experience but it was made for multiplayer, while SMB2 made for also a forgettable experience
