The problem with this method is that 2 fingers and the thumb are seen holding the coin, but only one finger comes away from the closed hand This gives the impression something strange has just happened A better way to do it is to do the move as Owen suggests, but drop the coin onto the 3rd finger instead and steel it This way the 2 fingers and the thumb that were holding the coin will be seen to emerge empty as the pull away from the closed hand Also it is best to cover the knuckle of the 3rd finger with pinky of the closing hand This way the steel will not be so obvious
