As i said some time ago it was a silly thing for that $18billion tax reduction if that is the right termand there was one before that It should be kept for future mitigation against needs for tax increases It will only be used to more imported food and other items It should used for cleaning up the worst slums in Kingston It could be used for investment

One thing is quite apparent from the onset of this pandemic is that Jamaica's economic growth is not sustainable and will always be precarious if it continues to depend predominantly on tourism and remittances Just saying buy Jamaican won't matter if the government doesn't focus on local production, making more attractive and economic for local suppliers to buy Jamaican than flooding the market with overseas products

Kalilah, Could it also be that some may be hoarding US$ and are exporting them and or not repatriating those dollars earned overseas when earned due to exports? Some deep research diving could unearth lots that are unknown to many!brThere also needs to be fewer hotels inclusivity so that more US$ is spent locally More manufacturing and export!
