And here is my epiphany: perhaps in Chopin's time they used to read music at 90 degree of the way we do it now We go from left to right, they read it up - down For the benefit of saving space, they wrote the way we read it nowbrbrRotate the notation 90 degrees right, and it would all make sense

I learned clarinet as a kid Learning the bass clef now is challenging After awhile of playing the clarinet I just immediately associated the notes as a fingering instead of the actual note name I’m sure because of that I have no problem playing melodies on piano, playing multiple rhythms is what gets me and playing each hand independently

Music is beautiful, but sheet music is so annoying Middle C is so important, but it's not even shown Lines and spaces are vastly different, but the notes occupying them are not (it's not like lines are for flats/sharps and spaces are not) It's really time for a new notation that's easier to memorize A ton of respect to those who can read and play off of sheet music, especially if you learned it as an adult

You're the first one to explain bass clef clearly that I've found and you're a life saver I know how to read treble clef since I play gutair so when people only describe that and leave out bass clef I got frustrated till I found this
