This was a very thoughtful gift ! I didn´t know yet the commemorative Canadian banknotes 1867 - 1967 But I remember the 1 $ Flying goose which I saw first time as a child in the late 60s in the philatelic and numismatic corner of a German department store Excellent design !

In 1967, to commemorate the centennial of Confederation, they issued two varieties of $1 note They issued 126,460,000 regular serial number notes with prefix L/O to S/O and F/P to M/P; and 12,000,000 "1867 1967" serial number notes to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Canada Neither are considered rare, though at the time, more people set aside the "1867 1967" variation of the note due to their uniqueness In addition, there are 920,000 asterisk notes (equivalent to US star notes) with prefix *L/O, *N/O, *B/M, *F/P, with *F/P being the most valuable in UNC
