UPI and Zelle both are same They both use NACH/ACH for the settlement at the end of the day Otherwise there is no difference Apple Pay and Google Pay are not wallet transfers You used the term wallet in different time in different perspective

I think NPCI settles the gross amount daily to the respective bank Since it's governed by RBI every bank is okay to credit and debit amount on the behalf of NPCI and settle the net amount at the end of the day but it's not the case with wallet

UPI is quite unreliable I have lost quite some money while using BHIM UPI The amount was debited from my account but the transaction remained in PENDING state for ever Upon complaining, the authority said they cannot do anything

While appreciating the good researched content, I would like to advise you to include (& promote) our Indian Government's NPCI's very own BHIM - UPI App for all users - which is equally friendly, professional & safer like any other UPI App As an ex-user of GPay about 6-7 years back, I can confirm that due to a security lapse in G-Pay, my HDFC Bank Credit card was compromised and some unauthorised billings were charged on my credit card, without my knowledge & approval Please DO NOT Recommend G-Pay to users

Who bears the cost of setting up infrastructure and running UPI transanctions govt, bank or fintech app providers like PhonePe? Obviously both payer and payee are at least as of now not paying any additional charges for transanctions
