Yes- I looked at this late (1 yr later) I am retired and on a fixed income I shop at Costco and stock up once a month And that's all the shopping I do I strategically share my card with my daughter who buys for herself and her significant other With the 2 of us racking up what we spend, membership is paid for with their rebate cheque I also think that 'delayed gratification' should be practiced by everyone If you think you want something Wait a week, and see how often it would have been used, and constantly reflect on it Quite often you find that you don't really need it after all Comment from : @gailm1230 |

I'm not a big coffee drinker I have a cup occasionally, mostly w my grandma I started brewing tea at my house more Helped me stop drinking so much soda (Down to the occasional, but rare coke) I use a gallon mason jar I heat water in a kettle and pour the water over tea bags in the jar (I use a clothes pin holding the tea bag tags to keep them outside the jar I close and let steep When jar is cool/slightly warm I put in the fridge I don't need ice, it's already cold I can sweeten to my preference I actually lessened my sugar little by little Better for my health My mom and grandma are from Kentucky They made sun tea in the summer Iced tea in the summer and hot tea in the winter Figure out what works for you It's mostly the Lipton like black tea blend bags I get the store brand I occasionally have a spiced chai or other flavor I used to get together occasionally w a friend and talk over tea We would rotate houses Easy to have some simple cookies or muffins Maybe a light lunch Comment from : @amiegamble1678 |

Spending when I’m feeling lonely and empty…yep that tends to be me I used to be so much better in saving money and frugal and hated debt, but 2023 did a number on me 😢 and the stress/anxiety was awful But I’m back t tue mindset of eating healthier/intermittent fasting, paying off the car debt I took on, decluttering, and no spend January 😊 I’ve been feeling so much better the past 8 weeks because of taking better care of myself and my life It nice to find you on YouTube who is also a single mom …I am too so listening to someone in the same boat as me is refreshing 😊 Thank you! I feel the opposite and my debit seems easier to spend until I look at it but with cash I think about it more what I'm spending cause it's in my hand as actual cash in my hand and seeing my dollars being spent and out of my hands I especially feel guilty spending on a bad a bad habit like a frappe for $5 When I have a blender and should just try to make my own I have tried making my own, but I haven't found the perfect recipe yet Comment from : @ashleypauley7588 |
Omg Kate, same, I prefer debit/credit…cash is too easy for me to spend and I tend to not care… I feel the exact same way as you and your explanation is me to a T lol Comment from : @cjmunsaka |

With all due respect, I disagree with the cash vs card spending There have been scientific studies that show it actually affects our brain more when we spend our cash vs using a card it doesn’t affect our brain as much - Dave Ramsey graduate Comment from : @kimberlyhughes6807 |

Yes! I use my credit cards (just 2) for almost everything It helped tremendously during my divorce to show what my expenses were over 5 years Now it helps keep me under control I always pay them off every month During the divorce I saw how my ex would take out huge loans on them and juggled money It taught me that I wanted to avoid borrowing any of that money Comment from : @barbarahollands6415 |

I love the ‘paper trail’ ideal I’ve just worked on my budget yesterday & had to think really hard on how much I spent on the coffee shop as I made the purchase via cash instead of debit I’m starting to love the debit over cash for this reason Comment from : @patriciadelorme9006 |

I can see benefits to both cash and card For me, cash works best for some things because I have trouble with impulse purchases from amazon XD It's something I'm working on When I get better control of my spending I will certainly go card only I love Chinese food so I taught my self how to make fried rice its not perfect but to me i actually prefer my home made one because I can season it to my specific tastes which is a HUGE benefit to making food at home I have started cooking form home every day This is month two and ive gone out to eat one time and that was for my 29th birthday Comment from : @Enasbooksandbudgets |
