What conditions change the you receive on a CD?
Comment from : @jhanick

@Boogasugacat
A lot of people think about CDs wrong If you want 1k a month you need about 219k at a 55 but most places give 4 so you’ll need about 300k
Comment from : @Boogasugacat

@Nick-Louisiana

Comment from : @CarmenGarcia-bu3so

@lindacathcart7414
I agree with stocks, and mutual funds, and some CDs Never had s lot in stock but being able to go and pull out $2-3000 after losing a job or other emergencies had been quite a safety net
Comment from : @lindacathcart7414

@edwardbreen7823
Great idea
Comment from : @edwardbreen7823

@eyeorewolf
CDs are paying 4 to 5 and the S&P P/E ratio is 2877 Using the rule of 72 the CD is likely to out perform the S&P going forward without the risk of potential substantial losses If she had asked me I would have advised her to put $100K of that money in physical gold and silver based on current economic conditions
Comment from : @eyeorewolf

@TheDanielRodriguez
Bless both, Dave and Juliette in this video ❤
Comment from : @TheDanielRodriguez

@ThatBoyPause
Not a believer in CDs when HYSA are just as high and you’re able to contribute over time You earn more in the long run if you don’t touch the money
Comment from : @ThatBoyPause

@roberven5617
What is the update on TIME SHARE Problems????
Comment from : @roberven5617

@MrArtVendelay
My daughter is now 35 and I did the same thing Every summer she worked I matched 100 in a Roth IRA in an S & P 500 Index fund I paid the taxes and now she has the start of a great nest egg I have taught her never to touch it Now she puts money in a Roth on her own but for very few dollars, what a great start at a retirement savings she has
Comment from : @MrArtVendelay

@Vicente-en2zx
Oh look a Ramsey sound bite that is actually useful I like that he uses behavior analysis (Psychological component)
Comment from : @Vicente-en2zx

@tammivandyke2889
Great and fair advice for her peace of mind Investing is not a one size fits all ❤
Comment from : @tammivandyke2889

@lindajohnson
The older you are you need safety and not lose everything in the market😮
Comment from : @lindajohnson

@lindajohnson
Good answer, the stock market is too risky Cd’s are still paying around 5
Comment from : @lindajohnson

@maryrenaud6732
What about the $250 k maximum…if they are at $250 plus interest shouldn’t be in two accounts…?
Comment from : @maryrenaud6732

@02hreblue30
If lucky you may keep up with inflation Buy stocks
Comment from : @02hreblue30

@philipfletch
Most of my money is in ETFs But I do have a small allocation to individual stocks that I have a strong conviction in
Comment from : @philipfletch

@AndersonFair-cy2bb
The "boring" 8 return in the stock market is only boring because you don't have a lot invested Getting 8 on a $750,000 portfolio is a $60,000 gain That is not boring If you focus on a larger principal amount (aka investing more), the "boring" 8 becomes fun
Comment from : @AndersonFair-cy2bb

@BirdDogey1
Curious why she isnt out enjoying the money
Comment from : @BirdDogey1

@kittykat334
I got my CD at 45 in Dec, 2024, so the investment in earlier 2024 would have yielded higher rates 😮
Comment from : @kittykat334

@diannemc3179
Spend it Lady🫨 at 80 yrs old F the kids
Comment from : @diannemc3179

@inkandescent3382
When opening a $100,000 CD account in a mayor USA Bank (brick & mortar)… Should we expect the bank to issue a CD certificate or at least a digital certificate… or not at all… nowadays?
Comment from : @inkandescent3382

@James-ql8bo
The shame of this is her and her husband saved their whole life and if something happened the kids would have that spent in no time
Comment from : @James-ql8bo

Comment from : @nenettewalsh9816

@drleonardo6382
At 80 years old this couple should thank the Lord that they woke up that morning Statistically they have surpassed the 76 year mark for men and the 78 year mark for women At their advanced stage there's no reason to risk their life savings in order to make more money They don't need more money They need peace and security and whatever a few years they have left Actually I would advise them if they're in good health to take that trip they never went on to stop pennypinching if that's what they do Their train is about to leave the station And remember you can't take it with you?
Comment from : @drleonardo6382

@normjames4130
They are making money of your money and you get the bare minimum
Comment from : @normjames4130

@ThomasBolleiro
I invested money in CDs for years I bought music that I didn’t even like
Comment from : @ThomasBolleiro

@MartaRinker
Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money I started investing below the $100k mark and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $234,800 Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest a huge percentage of my profit and it got more interesting! For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home at the beginning of summer
Comment from : @MartaRinker

@franklynthree
this was hart felt advice
Comment from : @franklynthree

@mc4565

Comment from : @mc4565

@mariep4018
The best place to put your money is under your mattress It always was You don’t lose anything you don’t gain interest but you don’t lose your money to manipulators in con artist And you’re not investing in China cause everyone entrepreneur has everything made in China even your medicine You don’t have to come across any Bernie Madoff’s
Comment from : @mariep4018

@MaximilianFischer497
The importance of diversifying your investments and always putting your money to work is one thing I've learned from millionaires Next year, I expect to make a return on the about $100K that I plan to invest in equities
Comment from : @MaximilianFischer497

@Elitesmile123
Awesome
Comment from : @Elitesmile123

@cindytracy9707
If they are able to split it up into a few separate CD’s and still earn the same interest rate I would suggest they do that incase they need some money before the CD matures If they do that and need to cash one of the CD’s they wouldn’t loose interest on all of the money
Comment from : @cindytracy9707

@TheOrigionalThinker20
CDs are safe from everything but inflation!
Comment from : @TheOrigionalThinker20

@Macbob-j6f
Agree with Dave Probably many seniors are investing for their heirs Personally, I use a portion of the $4000 mo interest/dividends for some bills, but let the principal untouched I also prefer preferred stocks for their higher dividends and more safety over common stocks
Comment from : @Macbob-j6f

@Macbob-j6f
I also owned a few 5 1/2 cds, but they were shorter term as interest rates were inverted Now they are flattening as longer term rates now pay higher rates
Comment from : @Macbob-j6f

@Macbob-j6f
Also, those 5 1/2 cd’s were probably short term cd’s as interest rates were inverted with short term rates higher than long term ones Currently, the interest rates on treasuries and cd’s are flattening, meaning long term rates are now paying the higher rates
Comment from : @Macbob-j6f

@Macbob-j6f
In 2025, interest rates may continue lower, therefore, goodbye to 5 new cd rates Same for money market and savings rates I prefer preferred stocks of solid companies that pay over 5, some to 8
Comment from : @Macbob-j6f

@johnviolette5511
I would suggest to this woman to break them into smaller CD's at the same rate if they can provide the same rate That way if she needs to get some fast cash a $250k CD that you cash out early would lose a lot of interest rather than having to break say a $50k and still have $200k combined in other smaller CD's But of course, she may be getting that 55 rate because it's one big CD
Comment from : @johnviolette5511

@williedorsey3485

@carolynrose1816
Dave Ramsey doesn't disappoint It was stupid of me to sell $76,000 worth of NVDA stocks without reinvesting I might turn to cash soon if I don't Any particulars? (Buying bonds or CDs is not for me)
Comment from : @carolynrose1816

@NightWLKR1
CDs are a good long term investment I know several retirees that have CDs and are living fine
Comment from : @NightWLKR1

@NikitaMcLauren
Amazing content! I have been following your videos for sometime now, consistently kicking down Wall Street doors for two years now, I have over $320k in stocks Currently, my portfolio is down by 15 Wondering if they're any short term opportunities I can invest in
Comment from : @NikitaMcLauren

@janedoe6071
I'm on SSI and to keep it simple I just want to build back the generational wealth my dad lostI don't have 5-10-20,000$ that everybody wants in order to do CDs or invest in pre IPOs what is the best way to do this ?can I start to build generational wealth if I have nothingI wanna know my daughter&family have something🙏when I die
Comment from : @janedoe6071

@runningbearsf
I’ve never had much success with stocks, but crypto has been a different story My biggest win came when I invested $1,500 in Shiba Inu In just four months, the value skyrocketed, and my investment grew to $30,000 when Shiba Inu took off As soon as I saw the price dropping fast, I decided to cash out, walking away with a $27,000 profit brbrI believe Crypto is for the people and Stocks is for the government
Comment from : @runningbearsf

@tatianastarcic
My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless
Comment from : @tatianastarcic

@smarro71
My 401k is enough risk for me I keep some money in cds and make a little over 5k in interest a year
Comment from : @smarro71

@alexstevenm6414
The most significant lesson I learned in 2023 from the stock market is that nobody can predict the future Therefore, it's important to approach investing with humility and follow a long-term strategy that has a proven edge Suggestions as regards to strategies are welcomed
Comment from : @alexstevenm6414

@ewppkl

@jameswood9772
I've kept much of my savings in cash for safety, but I'm unsure if it's right for retirement Contemplating investing $400K in stocks, as I've heard investors can profit in tough times Unsure about my next move
Comment from : @jameswood9772

@SamMcKinley

@Charlies1970TA
This was so good, a complete answer thank you!
Comment from : @Charlies1970TA

@ryanwilliams989
I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or whenever you can afford to This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock That'd be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income
Comment from : @ryanwilliams989

@happynurse8706
I'm 70 years old and I no longer invest in the stock market at that age I cannot afford to take losses and wait 10 years for it to recover or even 3 or 4 years nope I use CD's for all my investments now
Comment from : @happynurse8706

@bobfmirvine6652
I disagree, she should split it up into a laddered set of CDs, over various times, so that she can spend the money from earlier maturities
