2020 I stopped buying Silver Bullion and bought US Mint collectible Silver. Was this a mistake?

I think the only regret you had was not to buy hundreds of ms70 Ds at the beginning at less than $200 brI regret selling the MS70 Ds at the beginning at $180 to 220 I lost (more like didn't make) over $25kbrbrCheck put the Os they are the next ones that will go up

Good strategy, Collectables are a strategic move br I picked up a pair of ms70 legends of life Lenny Wilkins autographed, 2021 last day of issue type 1 and a 1st production 2021 type 2, as a pair for under $65 br But they're ms70 pcgs grades, so I should get much more than I paid for them In a few years 😁😁

Good to diversify the stack! Even in collectibles you can diversify old, new, foreign, world, silver, gold, bronze - lots of options that go in and out of favor over the years Gold stays routinely highly desirable and worth collecting and stacking

I think you did well with that strategy I think if you would have timed silver bullion purchases right, you would've done better But, a lot of that is strategy either way You haven't sold So, you really haven't lost and if you HAD to sell, you'd break even at least, when you count grading fees and more than likely be ahead You enjoy those coins which is the most important thing in my mind

I don't and I kind of don't care because I like the collection aspect of the hobby My main concern is the person who inherits my collection knowing the value of what they get from me It will suck if that person gets ripped off

I quit buying silver bullion too and mostly buy Silver Shield over the last year and a half The premium is high but they all have gone up significantly in value over what I paid, much cooler designs over boring govt issued coins For example: look at what the Silver Shield US Presidents 1oz proofs go for on Feebay if you wanted the complete set going back to 2017

I don’t think you made a mistake buy what you like even though it cost more for collectable coins from the US Mint After all, it’s your money you spend the way you like it However, expect some criticism from people about paying high premiums for silver American eagles

Interesting to hear how US Mint products have held their value or even increased in value I think a lot of people think about Mint sets and silver mint sets of the past 50 years and how they really aren’t worth much Mint products are hotter than they’ve been in a long time Hopefully some of these are winners for you, like the 1936 proof set isbr🔥🦈🌊

I total enjoy coin collecting In 1986 I was so happy The US mint minted the silver American eagle I’ve collected them every year and will continue Last year was special , and was really happy that I was able to get some of the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars I always liked collecting the older Morgan and Peace dollars Looking forward to the 2023 coins
