My Grandfather started collecting First Day Covers when I was born in 1960 My Mom recently passed away and I found them in her attic By the way, I'm in the United States The covers are in great condition Does anyone know if they are worth anything or what I should do with them? in belgium a FDC is never a card, always an enveloppe By consequence there is never information on the back (like you mention sometimes happens) A card with information on the back is called a "maximum card" (I speak for Belgium), also containing a stamp & first day stamp Confusing : a stamp on a stamp (same words) In belgium we use 2 different words (postzegels and stempel) Comment from : @TheBSideDJ |

One of my collections is of stamps issued on my birthday, so a FDC with the correct date is great to prove that the stamp(s) share a birthday with me 😁brThe big question, though, is which is preferable - addressed or unaddressed FDCs?
