Step 1) Accept that rumors are a part of life, and you cannot controll how you're perceived brStep 2) Don't take what others say personally Develope an unshakable perception of yourself Develope and demonstrate competence in everything you say and do brStep 3) Rinse and repeatbrbrIt's only toxic if you allow it to enter yourself Comment from : @jacemenezes6155 |

The problems are well discussed by this speaker I agree with much of this discussion I truly think its partly due to the fact that for many in power they must sustain their authority because for them collegue or manager, they are doing well so it's fun for them to say or do anything they wish Comment from : @willowworks |
Unfortunately, there are workplaces that are so far gone The only way to change them is to reform or overhaul the entire management Comment from : @macadamia668 |

Work is a competitive environment there is always someone who thinks he should deserve that promotion and not you And those who are not good enough to achieve recognition by fair work would resort to backstabbing and gossip, and there are no naive talks that can talk people out of it Comment from : @neptunefog6082 |

I’m not in leadership but I guess a mid level lead Before I got the job, Ive always loved my job and felt it was so rewarding with the impact we do But im in a group I’ve tried so hard to change the place I came in with so many ideas only for leadership to leave me hanging after years of trying to build the group away from the toxicity I’ve listened to podcasts to help me figure out how to fix it but I’m at a loss now :( do I just give up? Comment from : @michellec6034 |
It comes directly from the management to maintain control by making the employees doubt each other and not form an alliancebrSome leaders are there for the status and image, not the role and responsibility brHow to change that unhealthy environment?brQuit Health is the most important thing You will not improve your health while playing games with poison Comment from : @Hodijo |
Gossip is fun otherwise it would not continue Comment from : @stefankurlak9556 |

Always assuming that management isn’t the problem and that only they are perfect and able to resolve the issues …… here is problem number one Comment from : @stefankurlak9556 |

I found the professional communication courses by Dan O'Connor were extremely helpful with my Management team It takes time to change a negative culture Comment from : @OneAdam12Adam |
They keep corrupt management in place They are corrupt I have a list Starting from store managers that revolve every other year Why? Because the store has so many law suits from the manager actually being criminals They actually get paid to mentally and physically abuse workers They know they are doing it They even hire in therapist to keep the information inside the company That way they know what you know The smarter you are? The more likely they get rid of you You have to go along with abusing peoplle Attach the abuse to the reward Comment from : @ChristineFilak |
I'm a new manager of a landscaping company, and 3 seconds in, I need this help The undermining of my perceived authority I just wanna cut grass, and be friends While smoking grass, and cutting grass I still need these corporate level skills My company just established a HR which is bug news for dirt monkeys 🐒 🙈 Comment from : @RandomsFandom |

It’s crazy that you can’t go to work and speak your mind or be honest with people because it’s so hard for me to lie and I always wonder if my coworkers listens to what I’m saying or they’re just aloof it’s like everyone formed their own pack and whenever new employees come along you’re treated like an outcast if you’re not like them and I enjoy working but people just make it so hard especially coworkers that are disruptive Comment from : @blackmewtwo3569 |
Workers should take over the Business Comment from : @jonnymahony9402 |

Listening to back biting can destroy your relationship with the person constantly mentioned in negative light Even if they mean no harm, even if they are good My in-laws and their daughter did it with me I have a crippled social life Also, I was okay with them doing it as I did not understand the consequences of listening to back biting brbrGain your own experience with each person don’t let your sub conscious mind elude with back biting Comment from : @rabiamehdi5570 |

If onlymy workplace would say, "oh how nice" but they would never agree to this because they couldn't commit to it themselves Backbiting is the backbone of the organization, as is backstabbing No wonder everyone warns the newcomer, "Watch your back" Comment from : @rebeccahorwitz6855 |
I'm working as an agile coach in german companies It's an eternal stride, because German's company culture and the German culture in general is extremely outdated In companies the old hierarchies are still regarded as valid Top down in perfectionbrbrThere is no trust in the people working in teams, there is no esteem, there is no empathy or respectbrbrPeople are demotivated and just do what they're toldbrbrThis blocks self esteem, motivation and creativitybrbrCompanies are blocking their potentials by acting like thisbrbrThey could deliver better results (products) when they would trust their teams and when they let the teams work autonomously brbrHappy teams results in happy customersbrbrBut Germany is not able to change Comment from : @Robvanlinda |
I notice that the biggest “troublemakers” are the least competent employees The weakest links Yet, they have the ability to pull others into their negative vortex and will literally destroy the social fabric of an organization because they refuse to work on themselves Deflection at its best 😢 Comment from : @beyondbrunch |
We had a culture problem I rolled this out in our workplace with a few tweaks and it worked wonderfully Not perfectly but it's made such a change It's not so easy to do, but at least the framework is easy For all to understand Thank you Comment from : @davertube22 |
I think people would lie about the third filter and claim the info is usefulalso I find people like bosses or those with leverage over some aspect of your life tend to act first and not even question or think about it later, and that was before 'cancel culture' of modern times amped things up Comment from : @maryodonnell5760 |
6/8 min in and all this man has said is it’s men and women He got some good laughs from the crowd mocking women first when it’s everyone His 3 questions about stopping gossip were good tho Comment from : @LaurenCheriSOCFI |

Is it possible that one is NOT bullying but rather addressing an area of concern for growth? We are overly sensitive to/when areas of deficiency is addressed Some people leave a conversation with one interpretation that differs from the other person’s experience That “reality” is shared with any and everyone willing to listen Looking for validation and comfort Comment from : @anatomyofself-lovevsgtrans4304 |

Strong personality has the power to make a change because of their influence!brbrI hope people who have a strong personality could use their power for good instead of bad! If you have that power on your words be a good example in away that people would be inspired changing their outlook in life! brbrPoliticians and other media influencers have that power to make our world better instead of humiliation! Comment from : @phish_1 |

Gossip, backstabbing and resentment will happen no matter what, It become normal live in this world The only option is to get rid of the problem, get rid of the worm inside the organization that feeds everyone and also the toxic peoplewe need to remove them before corruption happened Comment from : @abdulhafizMail |
I agree wholeheartedly with this tedtalk, however there are too many ppl at the workplace who suffer from mental illness who purposefully or without self awareness perpetuate chaos under the guise of leadership Bullying others, micro managing, or with their passive aggressive behaviors I was MrNice Guy for a year to test this and nothing has changed Comment from : @16bitmetal9 |

Not permanent Gossip lacks a good temperance Comment from : @Bradley-jm2ou |
So long story short is for every working environment to grow and flourish You need a constant open reflection of each other with a positive and negative feedback loop, the person reporting or complaining should have no fear of being attacked by the pack, a report should be risen and investigated by a fair group of employees to review if and why someones report is accepted as good or bad for the moral of the team & company growth or whether the reporter is being unfair I think the main reason this goes u noticed is when management either are over worked and drained or h&r fear fighting for the employees or management disregarding vital information for the growth and expansion of a ever growing consciousness in business, social and economic development, along side improved health and happiness Comment from : @NxtLvlDub |
Yes it's called in "Arabic alghibah" it's when you talk about someone who is not present ! And Islam defined it like eating the meat of the other person who is not present Comment from : @mohamedzouheir3810 |
