I personally don't like avatar that much and I know that the main reason it went so popular apart from the 3D Stuff was because it came from the makers of "TITANIC" and that was the way it was marketed, and people thought since it comes from "TITANIC" It most be the greatest next big thing! brbrAvatar's lifeline and main backbone is Titanic and nobody can't argue with me on that statement!

The biggest reason that Avatar was so successful in the first place was because it was the first 3D movie with revolutionary CGI effects, which was a new thing that nobody had seen before Other than the special effects it was boring and predictable as hell Nobody gets excited by high quality special effects anymore

This rookies talking about movies is so shameful to the universe of movie market International markets brought in 2 BILLION dollars, with China bringing in $200 Million by itself That means, if Avatar made ZERO dollars in America, it would still be ranked THIRD of all time highest There are so many more factors to the grand total, such as no other contending movie in 2009 christmas - 2010 (besides inception), and the fact that this was an original movie for all cultures to start with (Star Wars TFSA had a tough time internationally because it was a SEQUEL) SO many factors need to be considered when understanding the success of Avatar Can't believe this rookies only talked about the quality of the movie

Yeah the visuals looked very good in some places but other areas not so much (the Jaguar creature looked pretty bad from what I remember) but the plot was basically Pocahontas so it was extremely predictable the whole time
