I just picked up a 1987 S Constitution commemorative this weekend and I have the 1892 and 1893 Columbus Expedition coins I wasn't into them at first (I've only been collecting for a year now) but they are growing on me

I got into collecting the old commemorative half dollars couple years ago and I haven't been disappointed as a matter of fact I've actually started enjoying them as much if not more than my Morgan dollars and I love my Morgan dollars Unlike the Morgan dollars I'm starting with the most expensive commemorative halves first 😆 I haven't got my Oregon trail at a slab but I did get one for the typeset but I also want to get the Texas next

Older commemorative coins have some the most amazing designs and not mention history connected to compared to modern commemorative coins They historical events on them resonate with more people compared to todays I think the Vermont one looks amazing

The classic US commemorative half dollars are so fun to collect, especially if you take the time to learn about them My favorite is the California Diamond Jubilee with a Forty-Niner panning for gold on the obverse and a bear on the reverse

As you well know I love commemorative halves Some seriously beautiful designs like the Panama pacific the Oregon trail and the Texas So much history as well as beauty and potential value I grab them whenever I can These ARE amongst the coins I collect as opposed to stack It's tough to beat the feeling of finding one of these at an LCS and looking it up and adding it to the collection!
