Dang, it costs me less to live in Portugal in a 4-bedroom, 2-bath apartment than it does to live in the central highlands of Costa RicabrbrAnd when I finally buy a place instead of rent, it'll be even cheaperbrbr---brbrNot to mention that you can order from Amazon pretty easily here Amazon is in Spain, Germany, and the UK so you can order pretty much whatever you'd order from Amazon US And it will make it to you with little fuss

thanks for sharing Kristin! some things are comparable to Vancouver (if modest costs are counted for VC), except for the rentals though which are much more in BC Canada the cost of living in Vancouver is much higher overall of course and you get less for that often, let alone some business and studying expenses How much tax do people pay in Costa Rica with a Canadian passport?

For us locals, we can live a comfortable life with about 800 dollars, i live in an apartment with my college mate, we use uber to buy groceries, and we eat uber eats daily and we pay all of that with the college scholarship, so not only we do not pay anything for college, but the college is paying us for studying and we use only about 400 dollars for apartment and food, the other 400 dollars we save it or buy stupid things

Not sure if this helps, but I checked Costa Rica on Airbnb and found more than 300 listings for monthly stays that were less than $700 per month for 1-person renting the entire place (not shared housing), with at least 100 stays under $350/month That search doesn't show all the listings, so I narrowed the search to the Nicoya area and found 86 listings under $500/month brI think the biggest expense in CR is housing, and if you are renting monthly stays you can get much better deals than the $1,200 mentioned in the video Depends on the lifestyle and standards of each person I guess

Hi Kristin I use battery powered lights and smaller lights from walmart, home depot, amazon instead of the ones supplied with the house or apartment to lower my electrical utility bill I also cut down on the use of the big A/C unit in house
