To my knowledge, Coins are Never "pure silver" - that would be 10000 silver US dimes, quarters, half dollars,and dollar Coins in circulation were minted with 90 Silver in 1964 and before Therefore: "64 and Before" is 90 percent silver

No circulating US coins are "pure silver" If its before 1964 for quarters and dimes its 90, below 1970 for half dollars are 90/40 and 1942-1945 for nickels that are 35 That's all

Look no dude u have it wrong, it's any quarters or dime before 1964 for USA and before 1967 for Canada The one with cooper ring the brown rim those coins are not silver at all A silver coin will not have that Even if u find a pre 1964 coin it's not pure, it's mostly 80 silver and 20 alloys of nickel You can also tell if it's silver by the sound it makes

Hi Giantlet me help you if I may :>) Any coin other than a nickel that was minted PRIOR to 1965 contains 90 silver 10 copper was added to make the coins harder so they'd stay in circulation longer obtaining less wear Now there were 4 years of the nickels (1942 43, 44, and 45 that were struck in 35 Silver) Although the Denver Mint did not strike any of the 35 Silver War Nickels in 1942 So there's a total of (11) 35 Silver War Nickels that make up an entire setContinued
