Great video, it's clear simple and helped me better understand what the VARK quiz was trying to saybrIt seems I am mostly an Audio Learner followed by Kenisthectic brI already somewhat knew the first one but with the information from this video, I have a better understanding Comment from : @Required4workMJAE |

Maybe it was just random luck, but exactly 5 years ago I started learning Mandarin and saw this video It revolutionized my thinking about learning I stopped all the pedagogical nonsense people adviced me too, but started to focus on my primary modality: kinesthetically meeting many friends and experience stuff! brbrThx for your help! Maybe without this video, I would have never found my learning style and maybe would not be fluent in Mandarin right now! 😎 Comment from : @MrFisch-jj1yz |

Guys for anyone interested in learning more than one language I'd advise you to keep a journal or just notes of your methods, how you adjusted your methods and what you think works and doesn't work for you I learned english throughout the last 7 years and I don't remember how since I was so young and now I'm having issues rediscovering how I like to learn languages and what methods work for me Comment from : @sergioaorozco685 |
|
Your videos always make me surprised because of their qualitiesbrBut I've never thought that you've been considering everyone's learning style and and making videos You are an amazing teacher! Comment from : @angus9610 |

Hey, look at me checking out an old video! Anyway, I took the quiz and got exactly what I expected: i am a read/write learner, with a bit of visual I already knew kinesthetic and auditory would be the least likely for me I guess it makes sense, since I study languages focused on written sources and textbooks and/or reference materials like dictionaries or grammar books Comment from : @brianpalas |

Thanks! You're awesome, and it was a huge help because I never thought of adapting the text-materials to imagined images in my mind, in the language that I was trying to learn as a deaf viewer brAlso, your tip, about acting the sentences out in your mind and body and seeing it and the environment, was a great onebrbrPlease keep making these videos 😊 Comment from : @lynnieneal4273 |

Visual: 8brAural: 5brRead and Write: 15brKinesthetic: 9brbrUnsurprising that I scored the highest on reading and writing I use IPA in order to work on my pronunciation and I heavily emphasize grammar upon learning languages Grammar may slow down your progress in the short run, but in the long run you will learn how to properly form correct sentences thoroughlybrbrHowever, I am also surprised that I scored the lowest on aural, considering that I play piano, violin, alto sax, and tenor sax, and I love singing and frequently do karaoke with my friends and family Considering that I've watched several videos (such as grammar videos) on YouTube to help me learn languages, I would have thought that aural would be my second strongest, and more importantly, I would have scored higher than just a 5 Comment from : @justinllamas1 |

It's sometimes useful to actually draw things to memorize if you like visual learning I find spatial relationships sometimes easier to remember I think the key word here is actually RELATIONSHIPS though The fact that there spatial is just a particular preference, but I think most people find it easier to remember a smaller number of complex webs of information than a larger number of separate simple pieces of information (eg There may be easier ways to remember vocabulary than just to memorize each word separately) Comment from : @MrNichan |

Visual 0brAural 2brRead/Write 4brKinesthetic 13brbrI still don't quite understand how I should learn by being a kinesthetic learner :D Mostly I learn languages by reading/writing ( but the progress is very slow) and for tests at university the best thing for me is to watch a video on that topic or rewriting the information I need to memorize several times (mostly to memorize not to comprehend) When I was studying French on my own, the best thing for me was to chat with native French speakers, because textbooks and videos didn't work for me Comment from : @ranitisk |

I know I'm late to the party, butbrI got multimodal I knew that, more or less What surprised me is that I scored equal on kinesthetic and read-write Before taking it I assumed read-write would be my primary form and kinesthetic would be the lowest score I also thought auditory would score high, but it was my lowest one Although, looking over kinesthetic on this site, it does make sense to me Comment from : @kellydean101 |

Visual 9 Aural 4 Read/Write 12 Kinesthetic 5brFunnily enough, I think my modality varies with the material: I'm good with remembering video information (speech and images) but when reading, pictures annoy me (I find them distracting and I usually ignore them) I prefer audio stuff under some circumstances, too, and I remember movements better when it comes to sign language than I would ordinarily rememberbrWhen I was a little kid, I never managed to finish a formal grammar course, but I picked up almost all the grammar rules through reading and I picked up spelling the same way Even now, I can spell most decently short words after reading them once or twice Comment from : @miaulink1152 |
