Honestly I don't recommend using acetone on copper I just tried on two BU 1960 D Lincoln cents that had some gunk and it made the coin artificially tone and look like crap Silver is ok but I wouldn't recommend it for coppers Comment from : @jrduke357

Thanks for that info, Shaun I've used a cheap dish soap, and let a few of my most dirtier coins soak in soapy water I've tried using (Dollar Store) fingernail polish remover too but that didn't seem to work very well I guess my next step will be to go to the Hardware store and try to find some reg Acetone I'll try using that, along with my toothpicks, and see how well that works on the next dirty coins that I run across Thanks, bud Have a good one Comment from : @steveturner2231
