Bro today, I seriously used it on my five dollar coin which is now worth $500 and I’m young I’m not that young but I’m I’m 11 and I don’t I don’t have the brains to know that that would happen and now it was $000, it’s all stained layers off I’m mad mad

Damn! I was given a bag of wheat cents with thick oily gunk all over them so I rinsed them with dish soap and most came out with rainbow toning I’m thinking I ruined the whole batch

I would never guess using acetone could be safer than using Dawn!brI have to be sure - Use acetone directly and undiluted on coins?brbrIt must apply to copper jewelry too I tried cleaning a heavy copper men's bracelet with Dawn brI thought it didn't look as good after

Honestly I don't recommend using acetone on copper I just tried on two BU 1960 D Lincoln cents that had some gunk and it made the coin artificially tone and look like crap Silver is ok but I wouldn't recommend it for coppers

I used dishwashing liquid on dirty new pennies covered in sticky gunk I did this on coins I was not keeping but spending They were not numismatic coins so everyone can calm down now I’m just saying to confirm was Shaun is stating The newest Pennies turned slightly gold darkish bronze So, he is right If you got junk pennies to clean so what But if your got coins with numismatic value forget it🤔🇺🇸

Thanks for that info, Shaun I've used a cheap dish soap, and let a few of my most dirtier coins soak in soapy water I've tried using (Dollar Store) fingernail polish remover too but that didn't seem to work very well I guess my next step will be to go to the Hardware store and try to find some reg Acetone I'll try using that, along with my toothpicks, and see how well that works on the next dirty coins that I run across Thanks, bud Have a good one
