Two issues here, market forces & equal rightsbrWhatever revenue the women generate, that's what they earnbrWTA wants to join forces with the ATP, I believe I know whybrbrEqual rights: womens cab drivers, women dentists, women teachers etc etc, absolutely should earn the same as menbrWomen tennis players are not doing the same job as male tennis players, they are different sports brAn equal opportunity open tennis tournament would reveal the chasm between the 2 sports This would mean no professional women tennis players

Men's tennis is more exciting and attractive as a spectator sport due to speed of play, athleticism, harder hits, trick shots, longer rallies Women's tennis will never be able to match those but it has other things going for it to be exciting and attractive

But you have to understand that more money is put into men’s tennis, and the men do more they’re completely different sports Women’s basketball, and women’s softball are way behind men’s in funding why is that, Way more people watch the man’s, and let’s face it the men are better athletes, no knock against the women they’re great athletes as well but there’s nothing compared to the man

Equal pay is a term that, in any conversation, needs to be defined accurately first before going forward with any discussion Whoever talks about it has to define what they mean specifically Along the way, the definition may be amended to be more accurate and to get a better picture of what it is they're talking about brbrThat goes for a lot of conversations these days about terms that may actually have multiple meanings depending on the conversations being had
