I don’t think I hear learning disabled people being referred to as neurodivergent - I don’t think of myself this way or identify this way - and don’t except others saying this

I have this disability and it causes other kinds of issues in your life that aren’t related to just calculating math Sequential motor memory is also affected Remembering dance steps and other kinds of issues around organization Time management

My daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia & dyscalculia 4 yrs ago at age 11, now we were both just diagnosed with adhd She has really struggled with math and public school failed her miserably brbrThe neuropsych eval contained many recommendations for tools and strategies to help kids with dyscalculia learn and all the school tutors did was repeat things as nauseum, hoping that she would eventually get it all that happened was that she became very anxious, stressed & depressed and finally dropped out just after starting 9th grade Now she won’t do any kind of math work at home even though I purchased the touch math resources brbrI am a single working mom dealing with a myriad of my own health challenges from multiple tick diseases and I just can’t sit with her to try to make her work at it plus math has been a real struggle for me too- I get basic math but the rest just doesn’t make any sense nor does it seem to be useful for life so what’s even the point?! brbrI wonder how neuropsych (and the counselors, psychologists, and school people) missed the fact that she has adhd? She def had her own type of hyperactivity, always needing to move and was also on a movement related sensory diet brbrit was missed in me as well when I was a teen & seeing counselors but I was also homeschooled and grew up in a big family on a farm brbrMakes me mad, things could’ve been so different for both of us had things been recognized and we had received the appropriate help

I’m sixty filing for disability and have no way to assess my self diagnosed dyscalculia (it was not accepted in my youth as a thing) huge impact on employment and careers Any adult resources? Hi I am diagnosed ADHD In highschool and college I was good with algebre However I failed many time in Calculus Could this Dyscalula be a factor?
