My #2 school has lower cost of attendance (tuition, room and board) In addition, my number two school offered a 4000 per year merit scholarship Can I submit a letter asking to be considered for a merit scholarship? Hello, I’m an incoming freshman and was relying on getting a Bright Future scholarship to help pay for college tuition, but unfortunately missed the criteria by so much (very frustrating) I have a EFC of 0 and have the full amount the pell grant offers The university itself hasn’t offered any scholarships or grants to me and I wanted to know if this is a big reason to appeal to them as it was a HUGE way i was going to pay for college and it’s affecting me As a first gen student my parents and I don’t know what to do… Comment from : @ashers5506

So I got a very generous offer from my top priority school However, it’s not enough to fully cover all the expenses for school I’m wondering if I should contact the financial aid office and ask for more? or would that look ungrateful and could they possible revoke my financial aid package for that? My daughter got accepted to NYU for this coming fall 2021 The tuition and fees cost about $55,000 With room and board, books, personal expenses, the total is about $80,,300brAfter all the awarded scholarships, grants, pell grants, tap; plus $3000 work-study, $3000 federal subsidized, and $2500 fed subsidized loans, we still need to come up with a parent plus loan of $16,365 Our FAFSA is based on based needs, with an EFC of $000 I tried to ask for more help at the financial office but they said I can't appeal anymore We hope she can go to NYU but paying $24,000 is very difficult for us Do you think writing an appeal would help even though they said to DON"T take appeal?
