Yes, damn! That’s very true I started learning to become a developer late, and I’ve been trying to learn fast by covering all sorts of things as quickly as possible After four months, when I reviewed my progress, I realized I couldn’t handle it and couldn’t explain why the code worked the way it did Thanks for sharing, Justin!!! Just discovered this channel today and this is the 4th video I am watching as I am loving it But this video has convinced me to stop watching any more, and spend some time to put the theory into practice! Keep up the good work! I've never found other major productivity YouTubers that insightful, but your content is another level! Comment from : @Linsurgency |
|
TLDR: Spend more time to practice on each bit of theory before moving onto the next bit of theory You're welcome Comment from : @henrickchan4130 |

Impressive but a lot of things to keep into consideration brbrAnd how slow is slow and how fast is fastbrbrThe key point is capacity Comment from : @josephadeusi5632 |

This video didn't teach me anything I didn't already know Aside from you applying specifics to generally known practices and advertising your programbrbrYou also failed to cover how interest in the subject matter is a massive influence on your ability to learn the subject Comment from : @Theopheus |
|
i can connect with your theory Overload because it happens with me for long time brand i also connect with state of Theory and practice balance Because at this time my skill become my loved skill because it too much easier for me to perform that skill and i was the best in my class Comment from : @daiyanqureshi |

I have learned to learn faster, but how can I get others to learn slower? Comment from : @tobyeglesfield4403 |
|
I think we all used to learn that way The problem came with the fast-paced society and everything needs to be done and learnt extremely fast This guy read this book for a week, another guy for a day Well if it is a novel, ok, a week is fine But a scientific book, some serious topic, I would not believe they retain whatsoever information I used to learn in a normal pace and everything was fine In the recent years, especially when I started studying software engineering, so many things needed to be learnt so fast that your brain, just can't retain information You understands it, but because you have not practiced enough, which was my case, you just can't execute/implement what you have learned two or three days ago It is forgotten It is freaking frustrating and annoying As I am a person who need to know in a proper manner and apply that knowledge in a right way and thoroughlybrGlad I saw your video, because it shows that I am not the only one thinking that, and especially confirming that it is the right way Comment from : @kavon9748 |
|
I love learning because of all the side-branches and interconnected things I discover This style of "learning" takes away all the fun Comment from : @kodomotachi1 |

A relevant quote that comes to mind from one of the greatest MMA martial artists of all time, Benson Henderson, is, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast" Which I think really embodies the full concept of what you've taught in this video in the least amount of words possible Although I might adjust it to say "smooth becomes fast" to be more conceptually accurate Thank you for your video, it's exactly what I needed to hear right now 🤝🏽 Comment from : @enix823 |

Most of people still mixing different things together, I mean science and regular skills You need huge theory base only if you want to do rocket science or math, roughly speaking Most of the "skills" requires a minimum of theory and 80 of practice This is my life experience Comment from : @graceman999 |
|
The only skill I learned from this video is how 1 paragraph of information can be bloated into an entire 14 minute video Your content is awful Comment from : @ivandulya1239 |

Is it me, or can we say this is equivalent to the old adage of taking things one step at a time? Comment from : @danahowell735 |

Thank you so much for bringing up this content I am currently learning Korean and struggling with it Now I know the cause Once again, thank you Comment from : @fjrfree |
|
thats why kids learn faster because they don't have the ability to learn harder , they can only learn at easy pace , its an ability very difficult to mimic if you are an adult because adults get bored when things are easy and they feel they are missing things at that easy pace , in case of language learning , its the programs fault , 95 of language learning programs suck at giving material in the prober order for you to apply a kid like easy pace Comment from : @mygmail5016 |
|
Watching this video on 2X already Comment from : @pardhugolamaru7157 |

That's why, in old times, it was a custom for a master to take apprentices and teach them bit by bit, without trying to expedite the training Now, universities are pumping out students with mostly useless real-world skills Comment from : @x_ph1l |

intention, there summed up your 14 minutes video Comment from : @jojos3685 |
|
What I learned from this video:brbr1 Experimental cycling: Experiencing (learning the new skills) -> Reflecting (observing the results) -> Abstracting (thinking about changes to improve) -> Experimenting (adding changes in learning) -> Repeatbrbr2 The fastest way to learn a skill is to learn slowlybrbr3 Avoid theory overload: Only think and experiment around 1-2 techniques at a time because doing multiple things at a time will take more mental effortbrbr4 Balance theory and experiments for optimal skill growth rate For every hour of theory, you must spend at least 5 hours on experiments Comment from : @Piyushverse17 |
|
summary :
br1-learn too much at same time ---> multiple element integrative ---> theory overload
br2-best way to learn:--->learn more slowly--> balance the theory and practice
br3-balance theory and practice--> optimum skill growth
br-so the main point ( be patient ) Comment from : @NextGenGames0 |
|

in the past ,I spent most of time learning the theory videos but I didn't practise more ,because I want to use less time to learn more In reality ,I didnot make progress quickly and gain any successEven if I know this behavior is wrong,I just make mistakes repeatly I want to change ,I think the importance is efficency ,i learn to spend time to make entertainment for making happiness Comment from : @KateLee-lu9zn |

The idea to slow down learning reminds me on the time I learned how to write If I tried to write fast too quickly I could beat others, but my handwriting was bad and the more time passed it deteriorates so much, I hardly can read it anymore Comment from : @BrooksRyann |
