Wouldve surely been interresting going to an international University on the level of MIT, but my interrest in math at that time, wasnt nearly enough, to ever do things like IMO Like sure with alot of effort those problems are doable, but not if you dont care about math, beyond a basic point till College(like sure i was levels above all peers i know, without trying, but that isnt enough to just causauly, go try getting even to IMO, much less win a gold medal there) Well maybe i will try doing a year in such a Uni for my Master

I got ISEF semi finalist, uil state, presidents service award gold through Houston food bank (got it through despite being international), got regional awards in cricket league, first place sci oly state, top 10 tsa nationals, and college board rural scholar I have a 1500, 40 UW, and 69/6 weighted How are my chances if I write good essays and have good Rec letters

Hey Samuel I really liked your video and it’s been very helpful for me But I have a problem I don’t think I can even win the National physics Olympiad and I’m majoring in aerospace engineering However I do have 1 published research paper on material science and I’m working on the second one (I wanted it to be on material science because I wondered how did they chose the materials of planes and drones) I also won the National English Olympiad but other than that I don’t have any awards but I have a ton of extracurricular activities related to my field and community service Do you think I can get it if I continue to work on my extracurriculars and my research paper and if you think I don’t have a chance of getting in what do you think I should do ?

Gold at Olympiads is not taken so seriously at MIT because these medalists learn a bag of tricks and work really hard to win those medals which is a barrier to out of the box thinking, passion, ingenuity, practical skills and more MIT is known to have rejected Olympiad gold medalists for not standing out
