thank you sir for this video and giving me heads up of what's coming, i have never taught anyone anything before especially a language i have this kid who was never able to go to school to learn how to write or read and asked me if i could teach himbrbrmy first language is arabic and i can speak english well as my second language, and i will teach him both how to read and write in both languages, im sorta excited but i hope i can do a good job at teaching him, this video helped me understand a bit of how i should approach teaching him a very new concept to him

What I learned: prepare and have goals, smile whenever possible, have fun and make it fun by laughing a little, assume that they know nothing, talk as little as possible, talk slowly, use visuals more than words (draw, use visuals around you, mime), teach less (make them talk, have friendly conversation, get to know them), ask yes/no questions (?), correct student a lot to get English write from the start, teach contractions (I'm, I'll), review all lessons from your sessions together, have them rewrite their work to improve from mistakes 😊

The problem with some school curriculum is that they time or put time stamps in your class You can't just go to the next lesson when your students couldn't master their previous lesson And I as a beginner in the Chinese language find it annoying if I jump from one lesson to another without me mastering first the current lesson My mind can't handle too much information and we all forget easily so we need to always review our past lessons and incorporate them in the new lesson if possible

I'm a new ESL teacher and I've been having lots of fun teaching kids and teens, but beginner adults are SO challenging they expect you to translate everything and some downright refuse to skim a question or to read aloud i have students who won't do any exercises unless i translate everything, including the words they already know i'm so close to giving up

so i am currently teaching english for junior hingschool student when i asked him what his target for getting an extra lesson in english, he just say he wants to get to know more vocabs but the problem is, his teacher in school keeps teaching him random material for english lessons i got confused what should i focus on my tutoring not to mention my student dont want to take his english speaking/writing into the next level (?) he refuse to use it in his study or taking an english proviciency tests idk what and how i should teach him lol

Hi, im from india i searched how to teach English to teach my best friend English I met him last year and he is miserably failing in subjects He doesn't know grammar, words and spelling from the kindergarten level🙂 We study multimedia and he is skilled editor does work but seeing him failing makes me sad and also he is depressed that he knows all the contents but doesn't know how to write in english
