Hi, when reducing the size in the ring in the reducer are you using the 17 or 25 degree side Time seen at 8:17 because at this point I don`t want it to barreled shape at this point,brbr , If I want to produce a smaller ring in size but using a Kennedy coin year 1964 i have to reduce the ring quite a bit, trying not to deform it,would I be better to start of punching a bigger center hole or smaller for a better chance not to deform the ring squashing that width of ring to a smaller size,brbrI know the by punching a bigger hole reduces the width of ring but bringing the ring size down means more shrinking, but smaller hole means wider ring but needs more stretching on the ring stretcher to make sure the coin edge at top touches the mandrel brbrbrSo does the punch hole at the beginning matter on shrinking the ring size down a lot , or does that just determine the end width?brAnd does the punch hole or size of the coin matter if making a smaller size ring to it being squashed to a lot smaller size could this cause buckling ?brAnd using the Swedish wrap is this a way to shrink the size with out it putting a barrel shape to the ring as the size is getting smaller ?brI also when looking at my barrel shaped rings they look slightly off from center one side on mine ,looks slightly more curved from center to the other side, is this due to the outer part of the ring edge being thicker so less curve happens, if I try to put a more curve on the thick edge to match this brings the size on the thick side way below the other side,

I think you're wrong with the heating method You should heating it but letting it cold slowly that will make it soft and mor flexible When you make it cold faster you make it harder and able to broke

So in step 1 which is it Stretch the coin until the coin edge touches the ring mandrel, or stretch the coin until the coin is the right size larger than target?

Skyler, help me😕 Everytime I get to the end of my coin ring(without swedish wrap) I put it in the dome block to round roll the edges, only 34 mm above flush, and the bloody things squash sideways instead of rolling I keep ruining the rings It looks easy on youtube For the life of me, I cant see what I am doing differerent 50c 1966 Aussie round

Question:If 999 Platinum is currently cheaper (by weight) than 14K gold and a ring can be made in a few minutes on a swaging machine, why are plain platinum rings with $350 worth of metal selling for $1800 while a 14K gold ring with the same metal value is selling for $640
