Ahh the huburs of humans to think AI cant be sentainte when i guarentee you it can just not yet because its not advanced enough AI will be smart enough it will be able to teach its self languages so it will now what the letter mean and can teach itself AI so in a way it would be more sentient than humans

How do we decide that we have autonomy?
